Hey ladies! Anyone else's nausea/vomiting come back? I'm 19w4d and mine started up again last weekend and it sucks tricks that worked for me early on aren't working this time! What works for you?
When does your sickness happen and is it different now? In the beginning for me, it was typical morning sickness. Now, it's acid reflux and heartburn. A hormone called relaxin relaxes your muscles including those in your esophagus and you are more likely to throw up. Combine that with the fact your stomach is squished up into a much tinier space and can't expand as much as normal and you've got a recipe for throwing up.
I would try some antacid tablets, smaller more frequent meals, less greasy or spicy food, and sitting or standing for at least an hour or so after eating. There are also a ton of threads about ways to stop heartburn/acid reflux/nausea that could be very helpful to you. You can find those easily by using the search function.
My nausea came back as well, it just started again last week at 19 weeks! I don't know know what triggered it and it also is mixed with heartburn at other times. Not fun! I'm just trying to deal with it
It's been happening in the middle of the night - early in this pregnancy it was just a constant all day nauseous feeling but now I can't seem to figure out what triggers it since I'm sleeping and don't eat right before bed - maybe I'll try that...a little dry snack before bed (crackers, dry cereal)

You may want to try sleeping propped up on more pillows. By 9 months with my first I was sleeping on the couch every night because I couldn't lay down without my throat burning with acid or vomiting.
I've had morning sickness several times a week from 14w until now at 19w. Still going pretty strong I try to drink lots of water and bland foods. It absolutely sucks. I hope everyone feels better soon!!
Mine is similar to vexymommy that now it's more acid stomach/ squished stomach related and it comes at night. When I feel it coming on I take a tums (sometimes in the middle of the night) and it typically calms it enough to pass. It doesn't feel like normal heartburn so I wouldn't have thought of tums to help until my cousin suggested it. They've definite saved me from a few vomit episodes!
Mine comes back if I don't get something in my stomach right away (which sucks, because I'm not supposed to eat for at least half an hour - ideally a full hour - with the thyroid meds I've been put on).
This week I have gotten sick twice but I wasn't queasy, just couldn't stop gag/coughing and threw up my breakfast. Besides that my energy has been great and my symptoms minimal. I sure hope the first trimester uglies don't come back, I had a terrible first trimester. I hope you feel better soon.
I had an extremely stressful day yesterday and felt horribly nauseated but I think it was more of a stomach acid issue. Definitely lots of heartburn lately.
I agree with all PPs, but sometimes i also think that i get nauseous/sick to stomach because the baby is moving around and affecting my stomach, especially when i get ill during a meal. I've told him to stop moving around so that i can eat before!
I too haven't stopped getting sick since the beginning, but feel I can predict my triggers better. I agree with the stress though, if I'm really emotional or stressed out i feel sick. I've always handled my emotions through my gut. But surprisingly, I've been a heck of a lot less anxious since pregnant!! I stopped taking meds when we were trying, and haven't had any issues.
I just need to get this car sick thing under control now!
Unfortunately my sickness hasn't 100% gone away....it has gotten better for sure...I was diagnosed with HG early on around 6 weeks it was AWFUL! Thankfully now at 20 weeks 4 days the sickness is maybe once a day or every other day...but on those sick days boy oh boy is it a complete drag
I'm still having morning sickness a few times a week(which I usually feel nauseous) and then sometimes it switches to night when I completely loose my dinner! During those times, there is no nauseous warning, it just happens! I've just kinda come to terms that I have no control over it and this may continue to be my reality until my baby boy comes.
I'm bumping this thread, because this is where I'm at right now. 20w5d, and while my nausea has completely subsided, I am still vomiting. Sometimes I may go over a week, and sometimes it's every other day. Nothing specific seems to trigger it, I'll just be perfectly fine and then--BAM! Pukey Pukington. Ugh. Luckily, after it comes up, I'm perfectly fine again.

This is me. I don't have any nausea, but when I wake up in the morning I have coughing fits that trigger my gag reflex and it's game over for 10 minutes. But aside from that - I don't have any other symptoms for the rest of the day. My doctor said that acid reflux can cause the coughing/puking, even if it doesn't feel like you have heartburn or anything.
The past week or so, I've been experiencing heartburn for the first time in my life. This is awful! I can't imagine it gets any better from this point forward either (23w today).
I'm 23 & 5 and I take a unisom and a b6 tablet every night before bed. It makes me feel great the entire next day and I highly recommend it!!!! Seriously!!! Those are the 2 active ingredients in diclegis- but you don't need a prescription
I was exactly the same - sickness came back at 19 weeks! It only lasted a couple more weeks though and was very sporadic. Almost 22 weeks now and aside from a little occasional nausea, it's all gone.
I'm 24+4 & I've been more nauseous than usual, but it's because there's just no ROOM for anything anymore. I'm battling the constant need to stuff my face with a squished stomach, and it's basically lose-lose. Lol.
