How dilated were you...?

Hi there! I tried searching for "dilated," "3 centimeters," and "progress," but couldn't find anything I was looking for, so apologies in advance if something like this was previously posted.

I'm at FTM and my son's due date is July 9th. However, I just came from my OB check, and my doctor tells me I'm three centimeters dilated. She seemed excited and told me my son could come at any time, and she'd be surprised if he wasn't early, even saying he could be a June baby, but no promises. She seems to think she may be hearing from me in labor before my next weekly appointment! However, I've also heard of women walking around for weeks at three centimeters.

Any previous experiences from second/third/fourth time moms to share, or thoughts from FTMs? Thanks!

No personal experience but a girl at my work was 3c for like 3 weeks, and was having contractions on and off without any progress. They ended up having to induce her the rest of the way. Good luck!!

I've been 2-3 cm for three weeks and was told yesterday I'm nearly at a 4. It really is different and unfortunately not a good sign in most cases. My doctor made the same guess as yours for me, that I would be calling him before my next appointment. I sure hope he's right!

I've been 3 cm at my last 2 appointments. My dr was quick to say that this doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm just glad I am dilated at all!

I'm going on one week at 3cm (found that out Friday last week). And had an in between appt where I was almost 4cm (that was Tuesday). She still told me that she'd see me next week. The only thing promised is that it's all unpredictable.

38 weeks this Saturday and at my appointment this past Monday I wasn't dilated at all.

With my first one, I was dilated 3cm for for 3 weeks then got induced a few days before my due date. So I'm not sure if it means you'll be going on labor early but good luck if you do!

I've been 3 cm dilated (50% effaced) since 33 weeks (I'm now 36w+1d and they haven't checked me since then), so it really doesn't mean anything. Although, I'm pretty sure little guy will come before my July 22nd due date. Good luck to you!

39 weeks and 2 cm 60% effaced. Idk when baby will come, but it can't be much longer..

38 weeks 2+cm dilated & 70% effaced. I've steadily made progress and change these last 3 appointments. Dr thinks I have a chance of delivering before my next appointment, I take it with a grain of salt. Just nice to know I'm getting close.

My first I sat 3cm dilated for about four weeks still had to be induced.

3cm dilated and 80% effaced. 39 weeks on Saturday. Dr told me last week she wouldn't be shocked if I had the baby last week...but nope. Now going back on monday to see if anything else has progressed. I did lose my plug though...for what that's worth lol

With DS1 I went into labor and was only 1.5cm when I got to the hospital. With DS2 I was 4cm at my 38wk appt and had him 2 days later. I arrived at the hospital at 7.5cm. Right now, I'm 36 weeks and I was 2cm, this past Tuesday. I'll get checked again on Tuesday, so we'll see. I have pretty fast deliveries.
