Sesame Place

We have had our weekend visit to Sesame Place planned, and booked, for months now and of course I am checking the weather and it is saying 100% chance of rain. Has anybody been to Sesame Place when it was raining? Is there anything to do or should we cancel our vacation? I'm so sad! We've been so excited for this weekend :(

Re: Sesame Place

  • I've never been and don't know where it is but we just got back from Disney World where it rained 1/2 the day the whole time. We brought ponchos and a rain cover for the stroller and went all day. The only bummer was they closed the outdoor rides while there was lightning and the parade was cancelled but they still had indoor ones to enjoy. On the plus side, it wasn't as hot so the temperature was much more bearable when it was raining. Maybe look at Sesame place's website and see what they have to do there that is covered or indoor. Also, check the hour by hour forecast. It may only rain at night etc.

  • I can't think of much to do at Sesame Place if it is raining.  I think when we were there there was one covered area where they held shows.  The character meals are also inside in a crowded room with no air conditioning (almost unbearable because we went in August).  Otherwise, they have a big waterpark and I think that is one of their best features.
  • I grew up 30 minutes from Sesame Place and mostly remember water rides. They alai have character greets (my niece and nephew are visiting now). As long as it's just rain (not torrential downpour) with no storms you should be able to still do things. And there is non water stuff, I just don't remember it much. We went several times each summer and only did the water rides because...well...it was summer, and hot.

  • Thank you! The % of rain keeps decreasing actually so I'm hoping it won't rain. If it's cloudy that will actually be perfect because then I don't have to worry about a sunburn. Fingers crossed
