Twin question - Fetal Doppler

I know there are a few ladies in this group who are expecting twins so I'd like to know if any of you have used a home fetal doppler? I purchased the Sonoline fetal doppler and used it for the first time this morning. It took an hour before I finally heard 1 heartbeat. I didn't have more time to search for the second because I had to get to work but I am wondering if anyone carryng multiples has any experience using a fetal doppler.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Twin question - Fetal Doppler

  • It can take a really long time to find it! Don't freak out. They say that for twins if you can find one you've found both cause it's really hard at this stage to differentiate, plus at this point if one is ok usually both are. You're just going to worry yourself over it I'm not carrying twins (as far as I know) but I watched a couple YouTube doppler videos where there were twins.

  • @Blueyedsky Thank you. That put my heart at ease. I think I'll check out those you tube videos for twins.

  • Later on as they get bigger you'll be able to find both :)
  • I'm pregnant with twins and am borrowing a Doppler from a friend. I finally found a heartbeat on Father's Day when I was 11 weeks 5 days. I've found it a couple times since then (I'm now 12 weeks 2 days) and I always stop after finding one. I've also heard if you can find one, the other is most likely fine. I'd spend all day on that thing obsessing about the other one if I tried to look for both!!
