Yes, I would say so. I wish mine was that long! I have to go every two weeks for an ultrasound and have it measured. Today I measured at 3.2. Which the Dr. didn't seem concerned about. Anything under 2.5 she would be though.
Yes, it's a good thing. I just had this convo with a doc at the perinatal center. The average cervix is I think 3.5 or close to that. Anything more than that is just an extra barrier for your little one.

Anything under 2.5cm should be monitored, as well as possible funneling if the cervix does shorten to that degree.
