Hi,
I am 13dpo and vagina is swollen and dry. Cervix at mid level and opening is closed but difficult to reach as vagina is swollen and it feels tight in there (no itching and irritation). Is it normal to feel dry vagina in early pregnancy ?

Thank you.

Re: 13dpo vagina swollen and dry

  • If you know you're 13dpo and think you might be pregnant, take a test. That's the only way to know!

         TTC #1 --- BFP #1 5/15, loss at 5 weeks --- BFP #2 12/15, loss at 4+3 --- RE testing 3/16 normal, still trying for our rainbow

  • I have never heard of a swollen and/or dry vagina being a pregnancy symptom.
  • Loading the player...
  • If your 13dpo why are you symptom spotting and not taking a HPT? So confused....
  • Would like to take test when AF is due which is tomorrow. In a meanwhile thought if i can get any help on this as the wait is difficult.
Also have tender breast, cold and stuffy nose.

    Thanks.
  • Instead of asking a forum of Internet strangers perhaps you should try contacting you Dr and POAS? I bet you you'll get a more accurate response.

Sounds like you've had some rough sex if your vagina is swollen and breasts are tender. And a cold to boot. If you're pregnant enough for symptoms, you're pregnant enough to turn a test. Just POAS and get it over with.
ETA How do you know you are 13 DPO?
  • Everyone is different, but I will tell you for me my cm usually dried up completely before my period.

    *Trigger*

The cycle I did get my BFP, one if my first hints was that my cm did NOT dry up as AF approached.

Take a test. It will be accurate today. If AF doesn't come tomorrow it doesn't mean youre pregnant either, you may have ovulated a few days late.
  • Before AF I always feel like someone kicked me in the lady bits - it's sore, swollen and dry. Also, i'm not sure if you're temping but if you're using OPK's then your day of ovulation could either have happened before the surge or a couple days after the surge, so if you think you're 13dpo you may actually only be 10.

I fail to understand how people sharing their anecdotes and opinions about whether or not you are pregnant would be helpful to you.

No one will be able to tell you what's normal, every one's body is different, though I can understand how you might be feeling ("I really want to be preggers so I'm going to be hyper vigilant about all the things going on in my body that I never paid attention to before and what's this, this seems a bit odd, could it be a good/bad sign?"). What's "normal" for someone else likely won't be "normal" for you.

I recommend taking advantage of the different recording functions on FF, like the notes section and the specifics section, so you'll see what's "normal" for you during certain parts of your cycle if you see a pattern of it happening around the same time. For example, I know that during certain parts of my cycle, for whatever reason, I have back pain, while during other parts, I have dryness or bloating. But that's just my own normal; figuring out yours through FF tracking will help avoid the nerve-wracking symptom-spotting.

  • I was just thinking about you @PocketFullofShells!

I would also like to mention that bodies can change symptoms as well (especially if you are coming off a BC). Before my last AF I was naesous the week leading up to and during, which I never had before. I think it was my mind playing games with me. I had so many "symptoms" of pregnancy that were not normal to my cycle and very unpleasant to experience. I felt very cheated when AF arrived. (Why the suffering without the "reward"? Lol)

Because of people on here telling me not to symptom spot and if i have symptoms I would be able to turn a test, I wasn't shocked and upset when AF arrived, I was expecting it instead.
