Dark (almost black) tummy after birth

Hey mamas! Did any of your bellies get really dark after giving birth? Mine is super dark (not in a good way!) and I'm assuming it'll go back to my normal skin color? Anyone experience this and know what to expect?!

I'm not sure the technical terms. But skin darkening in certain areas is common in pregnancy. I read about it recently but obviously nothing sunk in my brain or I would be of more help. When your stomach skin shrinks back it typically looks darker. Just like if you were to color on a balloon then deflate it. That's the best way I can describe it.

I'm going to second what PP said. I'm experiencing the same thing. My assumption is that the darker color of the stretch marks plus the extra skin makes for a darker look.
