I just tried on tankini swimsuits at Target. The regular ones my belly was showing and the small in maternity was too baggy on the belly. Any recommendations where I can find a swimsuit that fits correctly?
I have three (one from DD, two from a sale) from Target and they're all still baggy in the belly. Trust me when I say, they don't stay that way! I figure that it's worth buying it now since it isn't too small and I have room to grow into it. If you buy one now that fits snugly in the belly, you may outgrow it before you get your money's worth.
I agree with @LiveNLove44 !! I got mine at target cause it was cheaper and fit better than the ones at motherhood. I usually like motherhood better than Target except for suits.
I second what @LiveNLove44 said about the baggy tummy area. I also bought a tankini from Target and it's still loose but you'll grow into it soon enough. I figured rather than buying two, three, or more as a grow, I'd get one and grow into it. But that's just me.
I went with a regular bikini. I figured that a one piece would be a pain wih having to pee every 5 minutes so I decided to just embrace the 2 piece and then I don't have to worry about belly fit. I may get a maternity swim shirt to wear when I will be in the sun a lot just to reduce risk of burning.
I got a suit that I *love* from Macy's because it doesn't have a halter top, those dig into my neck and I hate that. It has a lovely racer back and is pretty flattering. I expect to fill in the baggy parts later this summer. For now, it does move around an awful lot when I'm doing water aerobics but it's not a dealbreaker.
I'm a bigger girl and bathing suits in general from stores like Old Navy and Target don't work for me. I got a maternity suit from the Oh Baby line by Motherhood at Kohl's! Motherhood Maternity quality but at Kohl's prices and if you buy online you can use up to four promo codes! It's a great one piece suit that is cute and fits me great.
Thanks for all the recommendations! I found a one piece at Old Navy on sale and a tankini for $30 at TJ Maxx. They both fit a lot better and if I have to buy another one later in the summer, I can hit up Target again for the maternity style that probably won't be baggy anymore
I bought non-maternity 1 piece suits (TJ Maxx and Old Navy)...they have enough give for the bump! I also tried the target tankinis and they are too baggy, so maybe end of the summer I'll get them
I tried them on everywhere. Motherhood was the best price and fit. It was under $40 total and I think I had a coupon on tip of thay. Living in FL and due in October I was going to spend whatever it took to be comfortable all the long hot summer.
ASOS.com has really cute maternity swimsuits! HOWEVER, check the details to make sure the bra cups are lined. I ordered a neat blue and white striped tankini and I love it... Except that my giant darkened pregnant lady nipples show through the white portions when the suit is wet. So I went from feeling cute to obscene pretty quickly :-/
