Early labor,, magnesium??

So Im 31 weeks and my water broke at work :( went to the hospital and was dialated at a 1 with contractions every 2 to 4 minutes. They now have me on hospital bed rest until he is born. I was given magnesium to stop the contractions I'm on my third bag now. I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and if so how long after being off magnesium did the contractions start again? I'm just scared they're gonna start as soon as they take me off!

    They usually don't take you off. Or they wean your down to a maintenance level. And if you start contracting again, they can give additional meds on top of the mag.

    Magnesium is also given for neuro protection of the baby to prevent cerebral palsy and other neuro diseases.

    I was admitted last Monday at 33 weeks (twins) for contractions 1min apart, and given mag and steroids.  Everything stopped within 24 hours and they stopped the mag then.  I've been here a week now on hospital bedrest and contractions have been coming but not painful until this afternoon maybe.  How long will they let you go with broken waters?
