I'm ridiculous

So, Hubs and I are going to buy me a new (larger) vehicle.  This means I will be getting rid of the car that I have had since my senior year of high school (13 years).  I walked out to the garage to clean it out for the last time and started bawling.  I know it's a car, and I am excited about a new one, but that car has been through so much with me:  high school graduation, all 5 years of college, a few boyfriends, my engagement and marriage, my first and second doggies, my first child.  So many memories.  These pregnancy hormones are ridiculous!

  • Glad I am not alone!  Mine is a tiny Toyota Corolla... no way we can fit two car seats in the back.  I told Hubs that he is going to have to help me tomorrow when I actually have to say good-bye.

  • I was at a car dealership once and a family was trading in their old car for a new one- both mom and dad were crying- so you are definitely not alone. I felt sad when I got rid of my first car. The other's have been much less memorable
  • I cried when I moved out of my last crappy apartment (of only 3 years) before moving into my current house.  Sadly I didn't have pregnancy hormones to blame at the time!  I don't even want to think about what might happen if I have to give something up over the next 7 months!

  • I've had the same car since high school too (10 years). We bought a new car for me last summer, but kept the old one too. We're talking about selling it now, and I'll probably cry too!!
  • I almost cried just reading this! How sad! Those pregnancy feels though! :((

  • Well, all the boo-hoos were worth it.  I ended up with a 2015 Rav 4.  I love it!  It was still hard, and I was teary-eyed leaving the dealership and seeing my old car in the rear-view mirror.

  • It looks great!

I just traded in my old car for a bigger SUV in April. I had it for 9 years and made DH take a picture of me with it before we left the lot.

That is the car I am thinking about buying!  I too have a very old corolla that will be a tight squeeze for all of us (dog, cat, baby, husband, me).  Let me know how you like it!

I had a dodge neon throughout high school. I had my eye on it ever since I was 10 my dad bought it to drive to work instead of his gas guzzler. 6 years later it was my first car and my first love. <3. When I moved out of state, my dad sold the car and I ended up moving back 6 months later. Now... our next door neighbor has the EXACT. SAME. CAR. Even the same color and everything. It's so traumatizing. Waking up and looking out the window, some days I just think it's mine out of habit, but then I remember... I miss my baby.
  • The rav is beautiful! I'd love a new car. Mine is a little old, but it's roomy, runs great and I don't have a car payment. So I'm sticking with the Sebring awhile longer
