Low Movement

Any of you ladies feeling movement under the belly, above the panty line? That's where I feel like my little girl likes to hang out and kick around. I'm 22 weeks and I've felt her once from outside, and I feel flutters and sometimes stronger movements all the time. With my first pregnancy, it was SO different and my son would be all over the place. This little lady likes to curl up down below and hang out. The doctor usually finds her heartbeat down there too...Just wondering where you ladies are experiencing the movement!

Re: Low Movement

  • I also get most of the movement down there, it feels like tickles. Sometimes I feel movement above, closer to the belly button, which are like thuds or kicks – I can tell that it's a "bigger" part moving, like a foot or a knee, which leads me to believe the baby is head down and I'm feeling fingers below and feet higher up. We'll see if I'm right, I have an US today :)

I notice your user name....do you have a baby Violet??
  • It's off and on soft kicks and a lot of movement...my little guy likes to hang out pretty low as well...It drives me nuts because when I sit I feel like I'm hurting him although obviously I'm not lol

My "baby" named Violet is actually my dog. I love the name though, and kind of wish I had saved it for a human baby. My stepdaughter (human little girl) is Rose.
  • My baby is also a low dweller for the most part, although I now get the occasional kick up high. There are moments when he's so low that I get crazy pressure and can barely bend at my waist. I also have an anterior placenta though, so he may higher at times without me knowing yet.

Most of my movement is lower.  This baby is head down so it's those little arms waving around.  When I feel kicks they are up higher and feel distinctly different. I noticed how much more the arms move on my ultrasounds.  I think there's just a lot more room to move their arms than the legs.

  • @VioletandRose LOVE IT! Violet is our pick for baby girl. Such a sweet feminine name! And fur babies are just as sweet ;)
  • Our little girl has stayed really low and to the right. I have been able to feel her I think since about 17 weeks but her daddy got to feel her around 19 weeks. She is really strong! I had always thought a baby would be higher by now but I guess at 22 weeks it's normal for them to still be that low... Oh the things we learn....
  • I'm 23 weeks and my little girl is also really low! Every once in awhile I feel her up by my belly button but mostly at my waste line! I went for an ultrasound last week and she was head down so I must be feeling her head and arms moving around! She is constantly on my bladder!
  • I had my first rib movements yesterday. I was slouching but it made me sit right up. I get movement all over but the low stuff is the least appealing.
  • My boy also likes to hang out down on the same spot. This is my first. He seems to just curl up and be comfy. I told by the doc that it's ok he is still there but by 30 weeks he needs to move or it's a possible c section.... I'm 21 weeks and 5 days.
  • My baby girl also likes to hang out low and that's where I feel her the most. That's where the US tech found her too

  • My little guy has been very low. Recently my belly felt tired all over... Apparently he completely flipped and now his bum is up. He has started kicking me right up by my ribs. I was a little concerned before he turned but now my concerns lie in that he will be kicking me in the ribs soon.
  • She's definitely a low kicker. Sometimes I feel so much pressure on my bladder, then it moves away and she'll kick off to the side. I love her movements! Just now she's moving back and forth behind my belly button. It's so cute!
  • I'm exactly like you and feeling most movements very low and on my bladder. Occasionally I'll get a belly kick close to my belly button but mainly everything is too low for anyone else to feel unless I'm lying down. Dr said she was breech at my last ultrasound so I'm guessing it's her feet I'm feeling. Also like you my son was very different and moving all over always higher up and she's very quiet most if the day
  • 24 weeks today and still low! Although when I lay on my back I can now feel some thumps and bumps closer to my belly button.
  • Its so funny how different we all are! I was always under the impression that theres only so many places they could possibly be in. This pregnancy and all of your responses have proven that they can still find comfy hiding spots ;)
  • 25 weeks and my girl is exactly at that spot. I have no idea what it means. Sometimes she moves up, but more often she's way low. I think that's why it's hard for me to feel stuff from the outside even at 25w.

  • I'm 25 weeks and yesterday my little girl was extremely lazy to the point I became a bit worried. But today's she's kicking me again so I'm guessing she must have just had a lazy day or was hiding in a comfy spot where I really couldn't feel her movements.
  • At my u/s at 20 weeks and ever since then, I've known that DS is really low. The tech just suggested he is comfortable cuddled up down there at the bottom of my uterus. I haven't had too much discomfort from his positioning, and it actually has me a little hopeful... DD had pushed a rib (maybe two) out of place, so I spent the last two months of pregnancy with a dislocated rib (it's a little piece of hell I don't care to repeat if I don't have to!).

  • I have low movement again and not a lot of it. Same with my first . He's butt down so he kicks low. But I don't mind because my first slept a ton on the outside
  • @kindlycrystal hahaha that image is perfect! Some days I want to knock on my belly and be like, "Um, hi, do you know you are LITERALLY on my bladder now? Wanna wiggle off of it?!"

Almost 25 weeks and still low movement, with the occasional belly-button range karate chop.
  • I am 22 weeks today and just began feeling DS this past week! (plus size mom with anterior placenta) He is super low and still only feels like he is flipping more than actual kicks!! FTM and it is soo cool to finally feel him!

  • @plumpous Same here! I still have only felt her kick from the outside a couple of times!
  • I only feel my little guy low too, but he's breech so it's probably his feet. Also, the placenta is anterior so I don't feel any other movement except low. I'm quite happy knowing he's moving even if it's uncomfortable.
  • I feel the most movement pretty low as well. We just had our ultrasound and I know she still has her feet down low, the tech told us she likes to curl up right by my cervix which I totally feel the pressure of throughout the day! She's usually more stretched out so I feel her feet low low low and her arms up higher, but every now and then she will curl up all at the bottom and lay on my bladder. I guess it's comfy!
