10w1d. I'm really starting to get into actually craving things. I really wanted a yellow mustard and ham sandwich this weekend and I do not like yellow mustard or ham. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So, good!
GTKY: No one warned me about my shoes not fitting until they didn't anymore. Then people were like, "Oh yeaaaaaa, that happens". I cried. So many beautiful shoes that now make my feet look like overstuffed sausages. *weeps*
12wk1d...feeling pretty good besides some nice headaches...and learning not to get out of bed or stand up too fast...dizziness kicks in quick!
People don't tell you about: round ligament pain and that cramping is normal!!! I swear I read everything during the year it took me to actually get pregnant and I never read about those 2 symptoms!
11w1d -- Still feeling VERY exhausted. I continue to get sick from drinking liquids, but I'm having to force them down, due to a dehydration scare last week. I'm starving constantly.. & start to feel sick if I don't get food in my stomach STAT lol.
SOOO beyond ready to start feeling somewhat like myself again. I put in my two weeks at my full time job, so I can rest & take better care of myself. I'm so exhausted, but I know it's very worth it!
11 wks 2 days, and feel like my belly is very big, so probably just lots of bloat. Also have a slightly stuffy nose, and feeling tired. Lucky that I have the day off tomorrow.
GTKY. Already in maternity clothes, can't stand anything tight on my belly.
Oh I'm so ready to say bye to sickness and queasiness!! Mortified yest as needed to throw up half way through the first pee of the morning! Cue quick stop and turn around but let's just say my stomach muscles won the fight over the lower ones and you can guess the rest! Wtf! Only here do I feel comfortable enough to share such info!!!
I'm 9w3d today and most of the morning sickness has subsided as long as I eat. I'm exhausted all the time and I have the worst taste in my mouth all day long otherwise we're doing pretty good over here.
GTKY: 2nd pregnancy really can be so different than first! I'm hating the foods I loved with DD and craving random things that I didn't before.
12 weeks tomorrow. Feeling better and actually HUNGRY now. Still get tired easily esp in the heat. I have my first trimester screening tomorrow am. I'm 32(almost 33) FTM with a cousin with Down syndrome so the NIT was suggested. Going through it just so we know what we're getting ourselves into.
What no one told me: discharge!!! Like crazy creamy CM. from what the dr said its all normal and I guess it has to do with the mucus plug, but feeling like you peed your pants all day is interesting.
9w 5d I was just gushing about how thankful that I've hardly experienced any nausea or MS...and then today I feel so sick the only thing that doesn't make me feel sick is Mac n cheese and green tea other than that, I feel pretty good! Soooo sleepy, a lil bit of stretching pain on the side of my abdomen, and waking up a couple times during the night...but other than that, all is smooth!
Still so exhausted. I haven't done anything yet today but lay in bed and think about getting up for food.
GTKY: nobody told me that when people do know they treat you like a fragile glass object. I got put on a 20 pd weight restriction, but that doesn't mean I can't do anything! Haha
8w3d just slept 11 hours and it was glorious. Fatigue and constipation are definitely my top symptoms this week. Even though I was only mildly nauseous (aka no vomiting), my dr still gave me a Diclegis sample and I've been taking it for a couple days now and other than getting a little queasy when hungry (something that happens to me normally), I've felt better in that arena. But MAN have I been tired! Sleeping until noon is not uncommon, and then having another nap later in the day on top of that? Whew. So glad to be on a teacher/grad student schedule right now! Remind me to have all future 1st trimesters over summer break!
GTKY: I wish I had known that 1st trimester included things other than nausea and fatigue! I always thought those were the only symptoms (they definitely seem to be the main ones for most people though), and that things like itchy skin and constipation and achey joints only happened as the baby grew and stretched your skin, sat on your bowels, was heavy to carry, etc. I didn't realize how many symptoms began immediately due to hormone changes!
As an end-of-the-month-er I still have 3.5 weeks until I hit the 12 week mark, holding out for that hopeful 2nd trimester 2nd wind!
11w4d....ms is barely there and my boobs hardly hurt unless I poke them...but having a ton of cramps and exhaustion. Can I take a nap yet?
Why doesn't anyone tell you about the cramps and the discharge?? I would think that would be something to share but it's not in any books or pamphlets I've seen!
11w2d... Must have caught a stomach bug on Friday after DH made me homemade spaghetti and meatballs for dinner or it was just too much acid in the tomato sauce woke up at 1am and started puking every 10 mins for hours, after not keeping any fluids down in hours and getting dizzy, lightheaded and blacking out when I moved I had DH bring me to the ER for fluids and zofran, took several more hours for it to settle completely. DH swears he's never cooking for me again now. Was totally back to normal by the next day though thank goodness, now I'm just back to my normal achey, sleepy, sore boobs self!
GTKY: the bloat is real and I didn't expect it at all! I'm ready for a real baby bump instead of feeling like a beach ball of bloat and air
Hungry. Give me all the cereal and ice cold milk. And then I'll have more cereal for dessert. kthx. But seriously, I'm very hungry, and trying to keep cravings in check. I get nauseous the moment my stomach is empty (sounds like a lot of us!!)
Feeling exhausted most of the time, but desperately wanting to move my body. Trying prenatal yoga, but finding most of them boring so far. Looking for a good one that actually feels like a workout!
Already started nesting. I've mentally rearranged the entire house! Haha
10w5d, feeling ok..well, better. Not as much nausea as long as I eat. Still have really strong food aversions. Cramping. Poop schedule is way off. So gassy. Gained 15 lbs. Haven't had energy for exercise, but energy level is rising.
Oh, and I'm freaking out because my mom and sisters keep telling me that I haven't hit the point where I get really sick yet. They all said around 12 weeks I'm going to be vomiting constantly. I don't know about that, but I hope it's not true. It is freaking me out and making me feel sick just thinking about it.
@emlywilson: Don't let them freak you out. Every pregnancy is different. :-)
11w, 2d. I'm not saying a word about my nausea. I don't have time to throw up today. Sciatic pain comes and goes. The exhaustion still hits at random times.
We've told all of our parents and siblings. My husband just needs to call his grandparents and aunt and uncle. I need to text my aunt, cousin, and uncle. I've told a few more friends. It's such a relief. It took my mom about 5 minutes to comprehend what we were telling her because we had her convinced we weren't having children. :-D
Things they don't tell you: How you might lose weight the first trimester. How sciatic pain can start when baby is the size of a lime. How gassy you can get. How cramping is normal.
@TinyDancer51510 Oh my gosh, the sciatic pain. It was exclusively on my right side forever and now has switched to my left feeling worse than ever. I'm limping around like an elderly person and I have to keep telling everyone I slept on it wrong. Sometimes I'll be sitting and tweak it, I just about jump out of my chair.
12+2 today. Only sick sometimes now. Slight food aversions still. But now I'm getting cravings. May or may not have had a dr pepper and a giant coke from 7 eleven, 10 chicken nuggets from Burger King, and am now eating a bag of hot Cheetos. Maybe I'll gain some weight soon. When do people normally gain weight? I've lost 11 lbs and wondering when I need to start paying attention to my weight gain.
GTKY: no one told me that my back and hips would hurt soooooo bad at only 12 weeks. Granted I walked for 7 hours straight during my serving shift but still. So painful!
Oh edit: also agree with a pp about the discharge. Holy crap!! I always run to the bathroom because it feels like a heavy period!
I caught some sort of stomach bug. How in the summer, I have no clue. I can't even tell what is preggo symptoms and what is stomach bug. Can't eat or drink and running to the bathroom every five minutes!! Took off from work, may have to again tomorrow. I can't even get out of bed. So odd that I've been sick twice since I got pregnant and hardly ever sick before that!
I know this is my second baby, but at 9w, My abdomen is so uncomfortable, and my pants so tight (even the fat pants!), that I broke down tonight and rooted around in the box of maternity clothes to see what I could wear. I have on sweatpants with the waist pinned, found some work pants, and am finding all my regular longish tops that will hide the maternity band on the work pants. Might not make it to 12 weeks before I out myself at work. Ugh. I feel so disgusting and I didnt feel like this with my first. The ms is still terrible too - all day, every day. I'm my own pity party over here.
GTKY - That first tri is to prepare you for motherhood - frickin exhausted, feeling worn out and sickly, and barely hanging on some days. I forgot about these joys, what can I say?
Boobs are still trying to explode and I'm exhausted, but nausea is barely there. I hope the nausea is gone for good.
[-O<
GTKY: I can't think of any pregnancy surprises, it's mostly after the baby is here. You don't know how tired you will actually be… until baby is here. OMG. so tired.
@dwilson928 yep exactly what I jumped on to say today...lol. Sooooo farty! But I think my ms might be subsiding...and being replaced with crazy hunger pains. Although I still can't stand the smell or site of food cooking... Ewwwwwww
8w3d I can only tolerate a few certain foods, that unfortunately aren't healthy, except for fruit. So although pizza isn't nutritious, that's all I could even think about keeping down tonight. Can't wait for this nausea to subside so I can clean my house!
No one told me to say goodbye to my favorite jeans so soon.
@abbi1995 I was in that boat this weekend. Went five days with no trips to the bathroom. I was in so much pain I sent my boyfriend to the store for miralax (doctor approved) and I felt like a million bucks a few hours later!
10 weeks today and I've had constant hunger since week 5 but nothing sounds good. I have to make myself snack all day. I've stocked up on dresses and can't stand wearing jeans now. By halfway through the day I have a little bump.
Nausea. Threw up three times on my drive home from work yesterday. Constipation is also awful (and painful). I also feel like I am the only pregnant person whose boobs aren't getting bigger! Cmon ;-)
Re: Daily Symptoms Check In June 22--all symptoms/questions/concerns post here!
