Car ride entertainment

in August 2014 Moms
we drive 3 hours every weekend to the beach. I need some new ideas on forms of entertainment please!

She eats and sleeps for a bit but after those are done it's a struggle. Any ideas?

Things like iPhone music videos only do the trick for 10 mins

    Can an adult sit in the back to play with her? Peek-a-boo, patty cake, hold toys for her to play with, talk about things she can see, etc.

    If you do this drive regularly she will get used to it eventually.

    I sit in the back and do all those things. But it's too long of a drive to be that entertaining :(

    You said she eats and sleeps for part of it so I'm assuming you plan the drive around nap time? When we go to my inlaws (4 hours each way) we leave about 45 minutes before nap time. She plays for a while then sleeps for her regular nap (a lot of times she'll sleep longer in the car then her regular nap at home), then is awake for a while before we arrive. The nap breaking up the drive (instead of right at the beginning or end) seems to help.
