Monday Randoms

I'm still having Charlie horses sooo bad in my legs. Also lo's movement has slowed so much. I'm 38 w 2 d It is making me nervous. I know that it does happen but it was literally over night. I barely got 10 kicks in a hour and half. And I would get 10 in 20 min. Before. I have a dr appt. tomorrow but I think I'm gonna call in today.

Had an amazing Father's Day with DH yesterday. (We actually celebrated all weekend :) )

Re: Monday Randoms

  • I've been getting Charlie horses in my thighs!? Is that possible? It hurts like a cramp in the groin half way to my knee. 37 weeks today. My little 3 yr old boy woke up vomiting. Staying home with him today. Watching Gruffalo.

The calf cramps leave my legs so sore. That on top of the swelling that has just recently gotten so much worse makes me wish I could just put my feet up and relax. Kids have other plans of course but this Florida heat is kicking my ass today.
  • I thankfully haven't experienced Charlie horses this time around. I had them terrible in my first pregnancy!

On another note, my LO finally dropped! I'm 38w3d and becoming mildly impatient. :!!
  • Today's my first day of maternity leave! Officially. And I'm bored! Hahaha I wanted to just relax the first day off but I can't! I just want to 'nest'. I'm horrible at just relaxing and now I'm frustrated with myself!
  • I'm basically going commando today unintentionally. My brand new undies somehow ripped in the front and the material is a no-show, super thin, stretchy material. Going to take them off completely before returning from lunch. Also! I caught a terrible cold last week and my voice sounds like a man. Happy freaking Monday!!
    Anniversary
  • Stuck all day at a professional development and my back is killing me!! I can't sit this still for 8 hours!
  • My husband JUST decided two days ago that he wants to try cloth diapering. This is after months of agreeing we were going with disposables, after we'd made a stockpile, and after we'd put them on Amazon subscription service, and after we'd turned down several offers of secondhand cloth diapering supplies.

I didn't even realize how many different types of cloth diapers are out there until today when I started my research into them. I think we're going to go with cotton flat folds under waterproof covers, and I've already found a tutorial on how to install sprayers (which he has agreed that he'll put on every toilet in the house). To be honest, I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed, especially because I'm going to be a SAHM while he goes to work every day. Still, if he wants to try, I'm willing.

He already picked up some flat folds, and I ordered the waterproof covers. We're going to order some other types as well, just to see what works best for us. I'm just kind of rolling my eyes at how late in the game he changed his mind.

  • My doctor slipped a disk in her neck and will be on leave until further notice. I am supposed to be induced on Saturday. When I called the office this morning to try to make an appointment with her back up doctor they acted like I was inconveniencing them and told me she was booked all week. I am so upset...they acted like I was trying to reschedule a Pap smear or something.

Now THAT would upset me... Sorry you're going through this whole situation!

I ditched an 8 hr. PD a couple weeks ago even though my principal told me she really wanted me to try to go...knew I couldn't handle it!!! Physically or mentally, my mind just doesn't care about work shit!!
  • I notice that when I sleep or lie on my left side, I end up having pain that I'm assuming are contractions. When I move to my right side, they stop! This little lady is teasing me!
  • Had my baby shower Saturday. It was really great. It was more of a celebration than a shower because I told everyone we didn't really need anything, just wanted to have a party. Yesterday we went to the blueberry/blackberry farm down the street for Father's day. Today I will be making blackberry jam and blueberry muffins to freeze. I also have to can our last batch of fresh picked green beans out of our garden. I'll have to can potatoes some time this week. I'll probably be canning tomatoes until well after I have the baby. Calf cramps and strong BHs and making it hard for me to stay on my feet in the kitchen all day. But it will be nice to have some easy to fix canned garden veggies after baby gets here.
  • My job paid me wrong last week, so I had to spend a half hour on the phone with them this morning straightening that out. Finally got up the energy to sweep the house. Not sure what's worse, cat fur or bits of toys that the dog rips apart. Rewarding myself for that work by sitting on the couch and eating half a bag of chips!
  • @pandd10513 ugh! Cat fur! I could sweep 3 times a day and you'd never know!

Why were you being induced? I would be making a big deal about this. They should be much more helpful.
  • BP was great at this morning's appt. Pos for strep B (was for my first too, so no biggie), checked fundal height. Wanted a check for baby's size, and progress but doc said there's nothing to be done with that info so that didn't happen!
Oh, and the OB actually stopped typing to literally applaud me for a less than 20 lb weight gain this pregnancy.
Anyone taking extra strength Tylenol for pain/discomfort?
  • I have been having a lot of cramping and horrible hip pain. Insomnia is bad lately I lay in bed all night long and don't fall asleep until about 3 or 4 am then I end up sleeping til 10 or 11. I think part of it is all this pain I'm having. Been taking Tylenol but doesn't seem to Help. Can't wait to go to the dr Wednesday and see what they say.

My co-worker who has the easiest job in the entire office had the nerve to buzz me over the phone to tell me I need to help answering the phones, which already do on top of all the other responsibilities I have. If i am not answering the phone, I am either in an exam room or with a patient. I am 35 wks and constantly running around the office doing things and am having a hard time not wanting to bite her head off for making a stupid remark.

  • Are you a robot? I barely survived a ten minute trip to walmart yesterday. How are you so ambitious haha

I am quite exhausted. Hence the calf cramps and strong BHs. I do get a break while my cans are processing during which I take a nap. Not sure if I'm going to make it to doing the muffins at this point. It's just part of raising your own food. There's always something that needs to be planted, harvested or preserved. We also have 60+ chickens. I just joke to myself that I'll be like the women who used to go to the edge of the field to pop a baby out, wrap it up and get back to harvesting. Lol. For real I am hoping all this work will make for an easy labor.
  • Hey ladies!

I'm almost 36 weeks and it sounds like a lot of you are experiencing back and hip pain (me too!). What has helped me SO much is going my chiropractor! I never went to a chiropractor before I was pregnant but I'm a firm believer now. lol. It makes such a difference for me and I sleep so much better after going!

I just wanted to pass that along :) Hang in there Mommies. We're at the finish line.
  • Just a boring Monday for me, Netflix all morning/day (Criminal Minds) and ice cream:)
  • @Numajawara I Netflix Criminal Minds every day and today had my ice cream mid-day instead of at night!!
  • @pandd10513 lol :) great minds think alike girl !!!
  • I just couldn't concentrate at work today. It doesn't help that I had no meetings all day. Meetings always make the time fly faster. I spent my downtime online looking at baby stuff and watching HBOgo.
  • Organized my pantry today. Just trying to clean every little thing before baby gets here.
  • Getting discharged today :) can't wait to go home but don't want to leave our little one behind :(

I have GD and it is my doctor'a policy to induce at 39 weeks. I agree they should be way more helpful.
  • Realizing working until I give birth is going to be a long slog. Didn't feel like doing anything today besides reading the NY Times. Such a long day with no meetings to pass the time and it's only Monday. Also my boss is now saying I should take 12 weeks off which would be great but since I just started, all leave is unpaid and I don't feel comfortable going that long on just one salary. We just sold our old house so we put a nice amount in savings but damn, I want to use that on a dream vacation in a year or two and not blow it on maternity leave. Finding out I can take up to 12 weeks just made me way more stressed than when I was thinking I'd be lucky to get 6 weeks.
  • My husband just came into the bedroom and wanted to have a sit down talk about my weight gain.... He wanted to know what my plan was for after baby was born as far as how many times a week I'm going to go to the gym. I was civil and told him that we would have to cross that bridge when we got there. I am actually really hurt by this though. I gained just as much with our first as I have this time. I eat healthy, I stand, walk and do stairs for 8-10 hrs a day so I am not a lazy person. This is temporary. It would be nice to feel supported by the one person you actually want to find you attractive. Think I'm gonna hormonally cry myself to sleep tonight.

Omg that's terrible. I would tell them off. Is not your fault your doctor got hurt. Good luck with your delivery! Please update us! I love seeing pictures of the babies that were born already!
  • Oh my wow. I'd slap my husband if he ever asked me what I was gonna do about my weight. I was in the process of losing weight before I got pregnant. Was down 60 lbs from being 338, told myself I would never see the 300lbs mark again. So I was very emotional when I hit that mark. I'm by no means lazy either I was active even when I was at my heaviest. It was cause I would barely ever eat and then some days eat crap, not more than I should just didn't need a day of nothing but junk. When I looked at my hubby sad I was back at 300 he said it was all okay and for a good cause, we will be a team and work together after to both get into shape for our son. I couldn't imagine if he would have said what your hubby did. I'm so sorry I would have bitch slapped him. You're gaining weight for a good cause, and he should be thanking you as no woman wants to watch the scale climb.

My random for today was my false alarm last night had everyone watching me closely today lol. My husband would text me to see while I'm doing while he's at work cause I was having early labor contractions and last night thought I was having a slow leaking water break. All good today, just alot of people wondering if baby came or is coming. Stubborn little thing that he is my contractions have come to a halt other than the BH.just want to meet baby boy so bad. Dr said he could come at any time :D I'm 38 weeks and 3 almost 4 days lol. Just want to meet my LM!!
  • Thanks for the kind words ladies. I swear I couldn't decide what I wanted to do more... Cry or scratch his face off with my bare hands. I chose to cry and make him feel guilty. Men are so dense sometimes.
  • Yes some days they are and I would have cried while scratching his face off. I swear sometimes there's no thought process before the words come out. Hopefully he realises that was the dumbest thing to say. Chin up hun, you're doing a great job :)
  • Men really are dumb sometimes. My husband with all seriousness asks for a back rub- when I never do that not do I receive them. And I'm like- who the crap is the pregnant one? Seriously get a grip buddy.
