My doctor is all about taking a presciption, but they are so dang expensive! I asked my friend who is a nurse and a mom and she said that they are really all the same, as long as it has a sufficient amount of folic acid and fish oil. If it has no fish oil, take a supplement of that too. Right now I'm taking Nature's Bounty. But I would ask your own doctor if you are feeling uncertain about it.
I am taking the Nature Made + DHA. I bought the big bottle from Costco, so it's going to last me for a while. I've been taking it since February, so far so good!
Nature made cause terrible constipation my entire pregnancy. I use rainbow bright prenatals now. It is totally plant based and I love it. I've had no problems with constipation this time around and it hasn't bothered my nausea at all.
I'm taking the Similac prenatals So far I haven't had near the GI issues I had with my last pregnancy when I used the One A Day prenatal. That might be coincidence and it might not last but so far I'm liking it!
edited because apparently I don't know the difference between enfamil and similac
I like the ones made of raw food that get absorbed so much better. My favorite one is from Garden of Life. I also like the Honest prenatals but it's once a day pill, and those aren't supposed to be good anyways!
I'm taking the Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal. I have taken their woman's multi for years now and since this is raw, vegan, and has foliate (not folic acid) it's my top choice. My OB was very impressed with it.
I take the Plexus Xfactor vitamins. Just 2 capsules have enough folic acid plus it is a multivitamin and antioxidant supplement. They have an amazing absorption rate due to the formulation of aloe and New Zealand blackcurrant... So your body is actually taking in a lot more than what it would if you purchased them at the grocery store of from any where else really. My doctor was really impressed with everything in it!
I take the Costco brand ones and the only complaint I have is they make me thirsty. I've found if I take them right before bed, they don't upset my stomach. I can't take them during the day because the sheer smell of them is enough to put me over the edge. They don't even stink, they just smell like a normal vitamin
I'm taking the Nature Made + DHA also. I was trying to take them with dinner, but I kept forgetting because I had the bottle hidden in my room so my in-laws (who visit frequently) wouldn't find it and spoil the surprise! Now I'm taking the vitamin in the mornings since the bottle is on my nightstand.
I'm taking women's one a day prenatal plus their DHA. It came in a 2 pack, 60 vitamins in each bottle and was around $27. I looked up online to see what should be in the prenatals and they have everything thy require!
At my last visit, they handed me the prescription, she said if theyare too expensive to just stick with what I'm using (one a day prenatals).. I asked what the difference was, she said the prescriptions have more iron. in them.
I take vitafusion gummy prenatals because I get so sick during pregnancy and can't swallow pills. They are actually delicious, lol. I sometimes add in extra DHA though. I haven't yet asked this doctor if they're okay, but last pregnancy my doctor said these were fine.
I take Prenate Mini that was prescribed by my doctor. The first month I paid $50 for a 30 day supply! Then I found a coupon on Prenate's website for $40 off their prescriptions that's reusable 12 times (Prenate users take note!). So now it only costs $10. I don't have any adverse reactions on this prenatal so I'll be sticking with it.
I am working on a blog article about this... after looking through what is suggested I was already taking supplements for: complex- B, methyl folate, High EPA DHA fish oil, magnesium and VitD

Last pregnancy, I took the expensive "vitamed rx plus" prescription one. It left me nauseous and with gross fish burps every day. Now I'm taking the women's one a day prenatal because it seems to be a pretty trusted brand. Doc didn't seem to have a problem with it.

@Kbalas1018 where do you find that? Sounds really good!
