Diluted formula

Some help is appreciated. My husband made DD a bottle up, i said 100 ml 2 scoops he did 150ml 2 scoops. She drank 50ml before I realised she is 3 weeks old. Should she be okay or do I seek medical advice because of the diluted mixture? I've read about water poisoning and electrolytes in babies and am freaking out. We don't use paediatricians so I don't have anyone to call and it's 5am

    There's probably a number that you could call for the formula company. I know that Similac has a 24 hour support line. This may be a good reason to find a pediatrician though.

    If I remember correctly, @mishmardhiono lives in Canada or somewhere that pediatricians aren't a "thing".  It's not that she chose not to have one, it's just not something that is done and they use general practitioners.  I agree though, that maybe there is a number you can call for the formula company and find out.  And if I am remembering correctly about the whole pediatrician/general practitioner thing, do they have an after hours number that you can call?

    Good thinking, totally forgot about the support line. Nope, GP has no after hours line we have a government number we can call to speak to a nurse but because of liability they'll always tell you to go to ER even for a scratched finger.. I'm in australia, we have child health nurses rather than paediatricians unless you have a child with complexed medical history/conditions

    Sorry, I knew it was somewhere besides the US, but I thought you lived somewhere that pediatricians weren't prevalent.  I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the ER, I'd be worried about exposing LO to something else worse than what has happened.  Hopefully the formula line can help!

    Can't wait to get off this formula and get back to ebfing. It's Been nothing but the biggest pain ever. I have a whole new found respect for formula mums, before we went to formula I would say to DH for 3am feeds "must be so Much easier to just formula feed".. I eat my words now.

    Thanks for the advice everyone, she'll be okay the lady said unless we continue to dilute it for days but she did say she believes DD has an allergy to the formula and we should swap to the other one designed for babies with allergies.

    Karastwin, you have an awesome memory! I agree, even going to the doctors for myself. I come home sicker than when I go there plus it's winter season and there's no one dirtier than a person with cold/flu sneezing , touching everything, tissues everywhere. Rank

    That makes sense! I hope that didn't come across as rude. I took it to mean you didn't have any medical care for your child so I was worried. Glad to hear that's definitely not the case and that your LO will be just fine!
