Mommies if you do not feel right get checked out!!

i had my Braxton hicks a lot last night within One hour and saw my little girl sitting unusually Low. Went to the ER just to be safe and get checked . Turns out my BP was super high and it's good I came then. Got admitted in labor and delivery and then transported again today to another hospital that has a better NICU in case they need to deliver . We are hoping to just stay on hospitals until she gets to 32 weeks . Keep my daughter Makenzie and I in your prayers (: and if something doesn't feel right go get checked

  • Yes I am so glad you got checked out. I will keep you and your famiky in my thoughts. Hopefully your lo stays put for a couple weeks! People are so worried about being the crazy pregnant women and they worry about bothering their off shift md but if you have weird symptoms call your md!
  • Hoping everything gets better. I agree with you about going to get checked out if something doesn't feel right. Better to be safe than sorry. Well wishes to you and your little one.
  • Good luck and hope your little stays put for a while longer! Good job listening to your instincts mama!

    I will definitely keep you all updated right now we're in a stage 3 NICU unit just in case she does have to come but we want her to go to 32 weeks at least so another 3 weeks and some change so yeah I have a lot of faith in my body and little one so we'll see (;

  • Wow, amazing intuition!! So glad you are both okay! I don't even know what BHC even feel like... Geez I'm worried about that. Seems they can be experienced differently! Well, if ANYTHING feels off I will go be checked.

I'm a FTM and when they started a few weeks ago I thought it was just the baby moving positions cause it's like your belly will get really hard and I mistook it for her moving her head or but . You feel pressure . And yes it's normal to have these but if you get more than 4-5 in an hour than that's means to call your physician . Just listen to your body .
  • I went in hospital Friday with really bad stomach cramps that just wouldn't go. They put me on a monitor and babys heartrate and movements were fine. When it came to me they checked my blood pressure ( I'm on medication while pregnant) and my urine and because both were fine they sent me home. The pains still carried on and yesterday felt worse so I ring labour and they told me to come in. This time it was a different doctor who did more tears such as blood tests and swabs as well as to see I got was early labour as I'm 27 plus weeks. She gave me buscapan thinking it might be bowel cramps as I suffer with IBS but it didn't help. They've offered me a scan to see if they can pick up anything else from baby and check for gallstones. But they didn't know why I had these constant cramps. I carried on taking paracetamol and buscapan but I'm still having some discomfort. I'm glad babys okay and so far they haven't found anything serious but it's also frustrating that me or doctors don't know how to help me ease things.
  • @louiser210591 oh wow ! So what is the final say what are they gonna do ?
  • Oh my goodness!!! Yes you are so right if you feel something is not normal DO NOT IGNORE! Your mommy instinct kicked in. Prayers to you both.
  • I hope everything goes ok! It's so nice to hear how positive you are being about everything, a bad attitude can add a lot of stress. I'll be thinking of you and watching for updates <3
  • They've referred me for a scan to see if it picks up anything they can't see and to check for gallstones and I need to wait for results from my swab and take it from there
  • Wow! SO glad both of you ladies followed your instincts. I had a scare last night that the on call doctor made me feel stupid about, but I'm still worried. A few days ago I started having dull, aching pains in my back. That night out of the blue I had terrible stomach pains and diarrhea *sorry tmi, I know* Little man was kicking away so I figured it was just something I ate. Two normal days go by, and yesterday I notice I'm feeling "off"  and having those back aches again. This time, little guy is having a very slow day- he's still moving, but not much. Again, last night- completely out of the blue I start to get bh contractions and sudden very painful stomach cramps followed by intense diarrhea. I decided to call the on call dr. because I was worried about it being something serious, or just to understand when I might need to worry. He basically brushed me off and told me that I can get sick while pregnant too and that he doesn't treat diarrhea- which ok, I get that. I didn't push further and decided to monitor the contractions. I immediately felt really dumb for calling, but looking back I am still a bit weirded out. The BH went away and my son seems to be moving a little bit, but I'm still concerned about the random contractions *I had about 4 in 20 or so min* and the incredibly painful stomach cramps. I have crohn's disease, and so I know what an off stomach feels like- this was different. Leaves me a little bit concerned, and bummed at how the one time I use the on call doc, I immediately regret it.

Anyway, all of that to say- these stories make me feel better about my decision and advocating for myself if it continues to happen, so thank you.
  • I hope things look up and everything's okay!

Yeah well thing was I was totally calm going to the ER I legit thought they would look at me tell me I'm crazy and send me home . I just wanted to double check you know . And now I'm still here in the hospital . I didn't even come for the actual reason I got admitted which is crazy . But yes I just can't stress enough don't sleep on anything you know your body I'm a FTM so I was thinking I was just being a rookie and being soft lol

Things are better than they were they found extra protein in my urine on top of things (Tmi) so I'm still in hospital . My baby will forsure not be September born but I'd like to get better so I can at least Carey her to end of July !

It's funny because what helped me what some other girl on another app like this that posted a picture of herself right before she went into preterm labor and gave birth at 25 weeks she showed how her baby was sitting crazy low . So with me just seeing that when my contractions started and I looked at my belly I'm like mine looks like hers had I not seen that I wouldn't have most likely thought twice about this and assumed I was paranoid.
  • Thanks for the advice, praying your LO will stay in a while longer. For the other moms that are going through I pray everything is alright.
  • @jennsuzanne87 hmmmmm watch that please ! My doctor is the same way he's always very short and like any Concern I kind of feel as if he's about to laugh at me . I just thought that's how doctors were . When this all went down 2 days ago I went to the hospital that he works from well he's out of town and I'm kind of glad . I was transported to this stage 3 NICU hospital and it's so much better than the one my doctor delivers at and the doctor here is amazing !!! I am now switching doctors and hospitals and I never thought I would do it I was going to stick it out . But this new doctor was so attentive all my concerns were well listened it it was such a different experience I wish I had my whole pregnancy . Keep bugging them if you don't feel right . Don't let him brush you off

Glad things are looking up for you! Keep us posted! I actually really like my normal ob and will mention it to her and if it happens again I will call them and bug them again. He's a bit more active today and I once again feel normal so we will see!
  • I hope your baby stays in a while longer! Thank you reminding us how important it is to listen to our bodies and not be afraid to get checked out if something feels off! I'm thinking of you.
