Is waiting 6wks PP to have sex REALLY necessary??

Ok ok.. I know what you're thinking. (She can't be serious...) I AM!! I'm 3 weeks PP TOMORROW... I had an amazing pregnancy, no problems with my c-section, and my recovery has been easy-breezy. My husband has been a tremendous help with our LO and I'll admit it's a huge turn on..(nothing sexier than a man taking care of his son).. Has anyone jumped the gun and went for it?? Is the 6 week wait really necessary??

I waited 4 weeks and 5 days. I had a second degree tear when I delivered. It didn't really hurt when we did it. Use lots of lubrication. It felt a little weird at first but then it was back to normal lol

Yepp I had a c section, had sex 3 weeks PP, no problems. Didn't need lube either. I had just stopped spotting 2 days prior and it did make me spot a bit the next morning but that's it

Just did at 4 weeks PP last night, had one first degree tear, one second degree tear. Stopped spotting 3 days prior, have spotted a bit today after sex.
Was a little uncomfortable at first, but used lots of lube and had no pain.
At hospital midwife said we could as soon as bleeding had stopped for 1 week.

Great!!! I was so nervous to try. The hospital freaked me out saying if I tried before 6 weeks I ran the risk of getting an infection. Luckily I don't have any tears down there. I had a C-Section

So I guess I'm one of the unfortunate rare few who didn't get the green light at the 6 week appt but I had a 2nd degree asymmetrical tear. My OB suggested I wait another few weeks but ideally 12 weeks. So I guess it all depends on how you tore?

We did at 4 weeks PP, I had a second degree tear. Lubricant wasn't necessary, but some positions were not pleasant! I'd say be on top to control your comfort!

I gave in last night, little over 3 weeks PP, I have a tear so I was cautious and was on top. It hurt some afterwards but not bad.

My husband has been counting down to 6 weeks. "Hey, guess what baby? 3weeks, 2 days till I have my way with you." EVERY DAY. No pressure lol. But I'm still slightly bleeding and still sore 3.5 weeks PP. I'm not ready anytime soon, especially since it's only been a week since I was able to stop using water to wipe. (2nd degree tears).

I hope everyone is using protection so you don't go to your 6 week appointment to find it you are pregnant. It happens. My step sister has kids 10.5 months apart.
And your babies must be angels. Because I just want to sleep with any free moment.

Absolutely use protection! I did! I could not imagine going to that appointment and realizing I'm Pregnant again. No way in hell!!

I had a grade 4 tear but was feeling pretty good so we jumped the gun and DTD at 5 weeks. Hurt terribly even with lube and I had bright red bleeding for 2 days after, hurt to go to the bathroom again, all of that. If you tore badly I guess I would recommend waiting a bit longer!

Am I the only one here with the opening the size of the black hole? Hate to be graphic but when my OB did a 6 week vaginal exam...well let's just say that I could probably easily slide another baby out. I'm afraid my husband will be super frustrated ...

I'm glad you asked this because I'm ready to give in. I have 2 more weeks to go. I'm not sure I can make it. I was a second degree tear too. I stopped bleeding almost two weeks ago and I haven't had pain in quite some time.

This is off subject but I had read that you aren't suppose to go swimming either. I didn't know that, but has anyone else been to the pool before your 6 week check??

LOLZ! I had a C-Section. My lady down there is just fine and ready to jump back into some fun. I'm deathly afraid of becoming pregnant again too soon. I'm 24. 1 kid is enough for me right now.

I'm 4.5 weeks pp and have absolutely NO desire for sex at all!!! DH would jump at the chance (which I appreciate) but I am absolutely terrified!!! I always found sex to be quite painful before having LO. I can't imagine what it's going to be like now that I'm all stitched up from tearing and an episiotomy. My 6 week appointment had to be moved to 8 weeks because my OB is away. I told DH we are waiting until the 8 week appointment. He was really disappointed but thankfully understanding.

We DTD last night... at 5w2d pp. I had a c section so didn't worry about my lady but I was nervous because I still have a fair amount of uterine pain from my incisions. it actually went really really well, but even though we were careful I think I'm going to wait to do it again until I get my IUD just to be sure.

My stomach looks like a war zone. You're not the only one. I purchased a waist trimmer and my belly is slowly but surely shrinking back down to size.

I only held out 2 weeks. I had a small tear, but we were just extra careful. I only bled for a few days and had an amazing recovery luckily. Plus I COULDNT wait any longer. I don't know how you guys could not be in the mood.

5 weeks PP and DH is getting desperate. I still don't feel ready. At night I want to sleep! Cuddling is wonderful but DH can't help but want more so it causes frustration. Sorry honey- but I'm the one on baby duty all night.

@allyshaa my whole pregnancy my libido was low. I could have gone my the 9 months without it except I felt bad for my hubby.
I am a little more interested now but definitely waiting till my appointment for the ok and to get bc.
