July 2015 Moms

One more week!

Due to the fact I have Cholestasis during pregnancy I'm getting induced next Friday the 26, I'm a FTM and I'm just beyond nervous! I heard getting induced hurts more but take less time to actually give birth witch I hope that's true. I been getting everything ready for baby witch I think I'm almost done but I can't stop thinking about how bad it's going to hurt and who knows how it's going to go in there. I'm such a chicken! Are all you moms ready completely for your babies? Are any of you scared? Have any of you had got induced before? How was your experience?

Re: One more week!

  • Hey mama, please don't worry or stress too much. Every single mom has a different experience, not one is alike. But my personal experience being induced wasn't too pleasant. I'll spare you the details but I was induced and in the end my DS decided to turn last second and had an emergency c-section. I've heard soooo many different stories with being induced, some say it's super painful and was a long labour and others say they gave birth within a couple of hours after induction with barely any pain! So I don't think theirs anyway to tell, just know that your in good hands and if your doctor thinks it's time for that baby to come out then you must trust them and know that you will meet your little one soon!! As far as having everything ready..... Well we have everything we need and babies room is complete. Of course there's always last minute things to do like a thorough cleaning of my house and laundry, and just prepping everything before she arrives. I'm hoping this week I can get some dinners made and frozen so when baby arrives we don't have any prep work to do!

  • Like SBbabyonboard said everyone is different and bodies will handle it differently. I was induce with my first. It took 26 hrs but as a first time mom I had nothing else to compare it to...so how can it be "more painful." Try to relax and not think about it so much. Fear causes you to tense up which makes it painful because your body may try to fight it or at least that's what I believe. I definitely felt more comfortable the more I understood so I just asked/read information. I had pitocin, my membranes swept and a balloon catheter the only thing that happened on its own was my water breaking. At the point where I wanted to quit it was time to push so the adrenaline kicked in and he was out in 2 minutes. You can do this you have so much more strength than you realize because you will be so focused on the baby.
  • I got induced with my first my water broke around 4 am I started pushing at 12 pm and by 1 he was born the induction wasn't that bad what got to me was that i lost a lot of blood and baby was really big but other than that the actual birth went by very quickly didn't even have one of those tv screaming moments at that time i just wanted him OUT lol good luck at the end you get a baby which is what matters
  • My first was induced and the labor and delivery was a breeze! The labor with my second was much more painful than my first. Just goes to show that each one is different.

  • When you get scared, just remind yourself: if it was that bad, no one would have siblings! I was scared with my first too. I am not going to pretend labor is something I want to do every day, but it is completely worth it in the end! This time I am nit scared, just anxious to be done. Good luck, you'll do great!

I was induced with my first and had a good experience. Pitocin started around 8 after the doctor broke my water and I was pushing by a little after 4 that afternoon. I ended up with a c/s because my sons neck was not straight as he was trying to come out, otherwise my body was doing everything right. Good luck! Try not to stress, you'll do great!
