Hi everyone! Just curious if anyone plans on getting the 3D ultrasound and if so around how many weeks do you plan to get it done? Any experiences? I have my 20 week scan today!!! Hoping to find out what we're having!
A number of ladies on this board have had them. If you use the search feature you should find a number of posts about it. Any questions you have may have already been answered on those discussions.

I'm not doing one. Also I think you should edit your last sentence to say "hoping to find out that the baby is healthy".

Hoping to find out what she's having isn't anything she needs to edit. Obviously it goes without saying she wants a healthy baby.
We are not going to get the 3D or 4D ultrasound. I kind of want it to be a surprise what our baby looks like and honestly, I would rather spend the money on something else The list of things to buy for this baby keeps growing. We find out the gender on 6/27 so after that I might start buying some things and knocking that list out!
Wow @lraubaugh and @Mumof4tobe those are awesome pics! I'm thinking to schedule one around 28 weeks too and have some family come to experience it with me! So we found out we are having a girl!! Btw @Ceridwen77 I do not have to edit anything. I would like to know the gender so I can prepare for a healthy baby #3. People with negativity need to stay the hell off message boards.

I don't think @ceridwen77 is being negative per say, just providing a different POV. There have been many threads on elective ultrasounds with some great dialogue and varying view points if you're interested in reading up there. I too don't plan to have an elective ultrasound and have made a personal decision to stay Team Green because it has no impact on how I personally will prepare for the baby, but good luck and much health to LO.
Maybe she's not being negative....but she..and a few others like to stir shit up. Don't comment if you don't like what they have to say.
I can see one person on this thread stirring things up and it's not me. I'm not one to keep my opinion to myself so i will continue to comment as I see fit, especially if I don't like what someone has to say
I think they look weird and kind of freak me out. I won't be having one.
Also, @Ceridwen77 has a point though. I feel like so many people forget ultrasounds are meant to be diagnostic. I'm dying for my anatomy scan to come because my LO may have some heart defects or cleft palate issues. So it kinda grinds my gears when everyone is just anxious to know the sex.
I got a 4d ultrasound yesterday and it was so worth the money! It just made it so real for me. I was exactly 18weeks yesterday and they were able to tell us the sex of the baby as well! I recommend it if you want to have it done!

Exactly this.
And to @Mumof4tobe who said earlier "of course everyone wants a healthy baby" - that's not true. Go search some of the "gender disappointment" threads. It's extremely sad and may put into context why I said what I did, which was not to "stir shit up". It was to put things into perspective and keep at the forefront of everyone's mind what is most important and the true purpose of the A/S; especially when we have moms on here struggling with potential genetic issues or defects.
We had ours done two weeks ago. I have always wanted one and wanted my older children to see their new siblings. Where I had it done they make it a fun experience. They have theater seats and two large screens to watch them. It was my birthday present and also, since we are planning these to be our last two, we wanted to make it really special. I was 16 weeks when we had it done. They told me they can do it as early as 14 weeks.
We had our anatomy scan yesterday and they were able to switch to 3D to get some additional images. Our little girl looks perfectly healthy, which is a huge relief for me considering I haven't had a scan since our CVS weeks ago. I've been so worried after that procedure, so the scan definitely calmed my nerves. Although I absolutely love seeing her, I won't be having any extra ultrasounds. The FDA has put out warnings about unnecessary ultrasounds because they don't know the cumulative risks associated with ultrasounds. That's just my 2 cents.
I hope everyone waiting for piece of mind from their anatomy scan gets great news and has a healthy LO. Getting potential bad news from a scan is terrifying and the waiting is just as bad.
