Team Green - Feelings on gender?

Any Team Green moms have a feeling as to whether your baby is a boy or girl? I don't have any feelings one way or the other. Some of my Mom friends are saying they knew before they found out the gender. They seem shocked that I have no idea or even a guess. Just curious if others were in the same boat.

Re: Team Green - Feelings on gender?

  • From the very start of my pregnancy I was certain it was a girl. Lately I have been having dreams of this baby and in EVERY dream it's always a boy. We have tried out a few of the old wives tales as well and everything is coming up boy so now my inner voice is struggling and I have absolutely no idea! Lol. Still have 19 weeks to go so maybe I'll start leaning one way or another again before baby comes. This is the funnest part of being team green in my opinion! You get to imagine it going either way and coming up with your guess before baby comes. Like I said I was certain baby was a girl so my husband is guessing boy, that way "it's a competition" he says! I may not be allowed to change my guess!

  • I really think mine is a girl but I'm terrified to admit that to anyone IRL!! And, I don't want to convince myself of it either. I do have the gut feeling, though :)
  • I'm torn. I have a feeling its a boy but I don't know if that is only because I'm secretly hoping for a girl so I'm trying to prepare myself for the opposite! The only reason I'm hoping its a girl is so that I don't have to worry about circumcision!

But I definitely don't have a instant gut reaction
  • I'm feeling boy. All my dreams have been boys and all my friends think boy.

So it's probably a girl. Ha!
  • I have no idea! I never had a feeling with my first either!
  • With my first I thought I was having a girl the whole time, I tried the intelligender, baking soda test, and lots of other old wives tales, the heartbeat was always up around 167 and would go up to 176 the whole pregnancy. I had horrible sickness the whole 9 months... I gave birth September 22, 2011 to a 9 lb 7 oz baby BOY ! This time around even though my pregnancy was completely opposite from my last I knew I was having a boy ! Both times I was stuck for a girl name... We had a few girl names but nothing that stood out, boy names just came to us and I knew he was another boy (: !

At first I was absolutely certain it is a boy. All of my family/friends thinks it's a boy. The old wives tales seem to point that way, but moreso I just had a strong feeling. Lately, however, that feeling is wavering. At my anatomy scan, the tech told me to cover my eyes at one point if I didn't want to know the sex. I peeked through my fingers...couldn't help it. I didn't see anything protruding, but again it was only a split second and I don't really know what I'm looking at.

Then, yesterday, I had another US with a different person. He flipped on the machine and said, "do you know what you're looking at?" I said no. He said, ok, good! Then it dawned on me – it was the genitals. I very clearly saw 3 lines. Some places say 3 lines is girl, others say 3 lines can be boy if the line in the middle is longer. I didn't get enough of a look to be able to tell. Part of me is glad, because I really do want to be surprised...why I'm trying to sabotage myself, I do not know!
  • In my dreams I'm still pregnant and even then I don't know what the baby is because we keep referring to it as the baby!
  • I'm team green and have a feeling I'm having a boy. Mostly because there has not been a girl in DH's family for like 4 generations, and I've read that boys can run in families like that. I've also always pictured having a girl and don't want to be disappointed if the baby is a boy, so I'm working on picturing having a boy. I've dreamt about the baby as both a boy and a girl though.
  • All of my family keeps saying it's a girl but I think that is more because there is only boy grandkids in our family so far. I think everyone is ready for a girl.

DH and I have no clue though. I have had a couple dreams where the baby is a girl but I have also had a couple where the baby is a boy. We both end up using male pronouns on accident when referring to the baby, but again I think it is because we only have nephews so we are more used to using male pronouns when it comes to the little ones.

I thought boy in the beginning. I had no doubts, no inkling of a girl whatsoever. Now I'm thinking it may possibly be a girl. Honestly, I have no clue and I'm just excited to have a baby in there. No wants or desires one way or the other, just for a healthy little one come October.
We haven't done any old wives tales, other than heartburn means head of hair, and people say I'm carrying a girl due to my belly position? But We haven't looked any up.

I'm always scared to say what I think out loud in case I am wrong.
Both DH and I think it is a girl, from the start we could only think of girl names and all the wives tales point to girl.  Whenever I dream about baby it is mysteriously "gender-less" so that's not a lot of help.  I've been terrified that we'd get a boy and have no name for it.  But we finally picked a boy name that we don't mind, we don't love it but it feels good to have one.  Everyone I talk to is always guessing boy and will make comments like "I just can't see you with girls, you'd be better with boys."  It's fine to guess but no one gets to tell me what I should or shouldn't have. Things like that just fuel my fire for team girl.  In reality though I will love what we are given without complaint. :)

  • @devonsd315  I thought the same thing, DH's family has ZERO girls in it, I have 2 brothers and about 30 boy cousins. I was convinced we were having a boy. The Ramzi theory said "girl," the skull theory said "boy,"everyone who seen my belly (I'm very low and wide) said "girl," and DH and my mom kept having dreams about girl babies. I convinced myself it was a boy because there are so many boys in both of our families (I'm the only girl). We just found out last month we're having a healthy baby girl!!  \:D/
  • @elmann1 congrats! that gives me hope that one day I will be able to have a girl. Not that having a little boy would be awesome as well! (see I'm convincing myself)
  • At the beginning of my pregnancy I had absolutely no thoughts one way or the other. Recently I've become pretty convinced it's a girl. Obviously, I'll be happy wither way. I'm really curious to know if my intuition is right or not.

I am not team green, but even before we found out the gender, I really knew he was going to be a boy from the day I found out I was pregnant! I can't explain it, but I just knew! I think there is something to be said for mama's intuition. :)
  • I thought boy from the start but now I'm not too sure! Especially after seeing the ultrasound. I love the suspense of waiting for the surprise though!
  • I thought girl with my daughter and was right. This time im thinking boy.

  • With my daughter I knew from the day of my first ultrasound (12 weeks 2 days) she was a girl. No real reason other than I just knew. We haven't had our anatomy scan yet but I've been feeling girl. I'm secretly hoping girl so my SO has a biological daughter but I'dd love for a boy too! Wives tales are split down the middle. I am carrying really low but not as low as with my son so that way it seems more like my daughter. And friends joke that it's a girl because of how crazy this baby is for its daddy!

I really have no idea but I have a feeling I'll have a girl. Mostly because my son was born in October and I have all the clothes and the seasons match. However I have no girl clothes so I bet it's a girl :). Either way I really don't have a preference. I thought I would but I seriously will be over the moon no matter what comes out :):)
  • I don't have a gut feeling... Wonder if that will change.
  • With my first, I was sure it was a boy from very early on and I was right. With my second I was pretty sure it was a girl and I was right again. With this one I am pretty sure it is a boy, so I am really excited to see if I am right again.

When my daughter was born, I knew it was a girl from the look on my husbands face and I will never forget that look. He is really excited to be team green again and I can't wait for his reaction again.
