Hi all Looks like I will be joining in on this thread. Nice to "meet" all of you!
I had my first visit with my MFM today after being referred on by my OB for a shortening cervix.
I am 16w 1d today, and along with the shortening cervix (went from 2.6 to 2.3 in the past 3 days) I also have a hematoma that has been actively bleeding all week. Both scenarios are unfortunately culprits for preterm labor so I am being watched very closely and visiting my MFM on a weekly basis. If my cervix dips under 2cm then they want to potentially do a cerclage.
I had no idea that hematomas pose such a risk for preterm labor/membrane rupture! My OB on Monday told me that it's fine and nothing to worry about, however the MFM felt very differently.
Right now the course of action is to just make it to 24 weeks without membrane rupture or needing a cerclage! I am on progesterone to see if it helps out the cervix.
Lots of prayers to everyone on this thread. I'd love to see everyone's progress!
I'm high risk, this is baby #4. I have a uterine anomaly called a septate uterus, which unfortunately causes the most issues of all the Mullerian anomalies (which include bicornuate, arcuate, unicornate and septate). My first was 2 mos premature, my second was generally fine but has significant genetic medical issues (unrelated to my uterus) and my third was IUGR and I was hospitalized at 26 weeks with him.
@jaredkate you're the first person I've found on here who has a septate uterus also! I was just diagnosed this pregnancy after a loss in January. Almost into the second tri and I really wish I could relax but I know the pre term labor issue is real as well :-/ praying for a healthy baby this time for you! Feel free to inbox me if you want to talk!
We found out its a boy. But we chose not to do the amnio at all since we could tell from the ultrasound that he's not healthy. No point in a needle in my belly to tell me what we already know. Heart defect of some sort and kidney issues again.... Belly is already huge....
I'm so sorry mama. ((((HUGS)))). Sending you lots of love and light. I'm so sorry you're going through this again

First of all sweetheart, I am so sorry for this! I would urge you to start a post of your own on the main D 15 BMB. I think that you deserve all of the support that you can get and I know that a lot of women are not checking this particular thread.
DH and I have lost three in a row, if you would like to private message me, I would be happy to discuss what we were told our options are (in addition to trying naturally again.) Obviously, if you don't feel comfortable doing that, I completely understand. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm so sorry mama.
Hi, just found this thread. I delivered at 34wks with my daughter. She spent a month in nicu. I had my son at 28wks. He spent 90 days in nicu. I have a history of high blood pressure and pre eclampsia. I also have diabetes and have had multiple early losses most recently in October. Both my husband and I are carriers of the cystic fibrosis gene. We found that out when pregnant with our first. So there is a 1 in 4 chance that our child will have cystic fibrosis. But, 3 in 4 that it won't. So far our other children do not have it.
That sounds like a lot when I list it all out I am being seen by a local ob and mfm and an endocrinologist in a larger city about an hour away which is where I will deliver. We have had three u/s so far and baby has looked good. Just trying to keep things that way. I am 14wks now.
Hello ladies I am new to this post and I first want to say you are all so strong and I am proud of everyone staying positive and taking care of themselves! I was recently considered high risk my first pregnancy was fine but this one is a little different I am grateful to God for my little girl that's growing inside me. My cervix measured short at my previous appointment and I had to be admitted and had a cerclage done afterwards I rested in te hospital for the week and when checked again was at a normal length and everything went we'll. I have been taken it easy and last appointment everything was stable! Thank God! Tommrrow is my next appointment praying I am still stable and get possibly do some more light activity. It's really nice to be able to share our experiences here on this board and app it's really nice to hear others experiences from first time and veteran moms! Keep up the good job ladies December will be here before you know it!
