3rd Trimester

Painful BHC

Hey ladies, I've been having some sharp pains in my lower left abdominal area ... Almost 36 weeks, and some of the time during the pain I can feel baby moving around. Are these BH or baby just moving around?

Re: Painful BHC

  • Could you draw a line straight down from the pain to your thigh? If so, my guess is Round Ligament Pain. BH is contraction of the uterus (like flexing your arm muscle). Sometimes there is pain with it, like if it is dilating your cervix, but for me it has never been what you are describing.

  • Not necessarily down my thigh but it is into my hip. I guess this last month is filled with new aches and pains lol
  • RLP pain wouldn't run an actual line of pain down to your thigh, but it would align with your thigh (just up higher), if it makes sense

  • BH even when painful are much more dull pain than a sharp pain and as long as they go away while resting and hydrated they're just practice contractions, they won't get consistent and timetable. Sounds like normal end of pregnancy aches and pains...
  • I am 31 weeks pregnant. I have been having really bad pooping cramps. It seems I get a really bad cramp then have to use the rest room. Sometimes I poop sometimes I dont. Today I've also been ridiculously tired. Waaaaay more tired then I normally am, I've had a headache all day, my back has been hurting all day, and I've had some mild nausea all day. Also, when I get the poop cramps my stomach tightens about half way, like not fully a braxton hick contraction but half way, but when I'm done using the restroom I have a full on BH. Should I call my nurse?
