Found our future day care soo happy!

My husband and I went on a whirlwind 4 visits to home and day care centers this morning. We found two great options and have decided on one of the day care centers. Has anyone else decided on where their little one will go?

  • We also toured four centers and chose one that's pretty stellar. They have a solid curriculum for all ages, including teaching sign language to infants (big selling point) and a focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) for preschoolers. At first we thought there was no way we could afford it, but in the end we reviewed our monthly expenses and figured out a way that we could.

  • Ugh no. .we want to do in home. I called around back in March and everyone said to try back the end of July bc they won't hold spots that far in advance. It's stressing me out!
  • @baker1jm2 the place we went with told me on the phone we'd be put on a wait list. When we got there they said the wait list wasn't actually waiting for the spot but a list of people who they are waiting on the baby to be born and come to the daycare. I thought that was a weird way of phrasing it. I hope you get to see some places. I can't tell you how much relief I feel.
  • All the daycare centers in our area enroll in February. This gives you a spot in August (like a school calendar). We had to reserve our spot in February. We will have to begin paying weekly fees in August. It kind of stinks but we are very limited on quality centers in our area that accept infants. A lot of our centers so not accept them until they are over 1-2 years old. The center our son is in doesn't start until 15 months.
  • @blondehairblueeyeditalianbaby that's pretty harsh restrictions it's good you looked into day care so early I wasn't even thinking about daycare then!
