Travel System vs. All in 1 Car Seat?

Not sure what is the better option.

Purchasing the Nuna Pipa & Mixx or the Britex Aglie/Safe then a convertible car seat later.
(I would love feedback on both travel systems.)

Or purchasing the Graco (or similar) all in 1 convertible car seat and a stroller that will last forever. (Open to suggestions on a stroller.)

I feel like moving baby from car seat to stroller would get tiresome while running errands.

Cost isn't really a factor I just want something that functions and looks halfway decent.

Re: Travel System vs. All in 1 Car Seat?

  • We had the Graco travel system - I never used the car seat in the stroller (winter baby so we didn't go on walks- used a carrier when shopping). So as far as the stroller goes, for us it didn't matter about the car seat going in it- however, I highly recommend a car seat that snaps into a base secured in the car- it was way easier taking baby in and out of the car and if you have 2 vehicles you can keep extra bases in each for easy switching! I'm not sure about all in one car seats have the base- I think only infant car seats do. We switched to a Chicco convertible after we out grew the infant- this one is also made for infants but is bigger, bulkier, and heavier for taking in and out if a vehicle, it doesn't fit a small baby under a year as well in my opinion

It is correct that infant "bucket" seats have bases and convertable seats do not. If the car seat you're referring to is a Chicco NextFit, then you are incorrect - the NextFit fits newborns well.

  • All the travel systems we tried were very bulky. So we are getting a chicco keyfit 30 with a stroller frame that it snaps into and then a separate stroller for once they grow out of the infant car seat.
