How soon is too soon?

I am really wanting to go back to work right after the baby is born. Not saving money and spending it instead is one of the most stressful things to me. I have to be constantly bringing in money. I don't plan on going back to work full time in the dental office but I do work in a restaurant and I could work Monday through Friday 11-2. And pick up some night shifts when I feel ready.... I plan to bf so I know I will have to pump. My mother in law will watch the baby so I won't be paying anyone to watch him. But I just don't know if once he is here if I'll be able to leave him

    Trust me, you'll want and need the time off to recover and to get to know your baby. With my first I was probably ready (getting stir crazy) to go back to work about 4-5 weeks into my maternity leave. By 6 I was ready to roll. But I can't imagine trying to go back in that first month.

    No one can answer this for you. Even you won't know how you feel about how soon you are comfortable leaving your baby until baby is here. For me, going back to work and leaving him was the hardest thing ever. I enjoyed the adult time, but words can't even describe the guilt and how much I missed him.

    The only thing I can base my answer off of is BFing. It really takes 6-8wks to establish a good supply. The best way to do that is to be with the baby to feed on demand. Obviously many people have success EPing but on demand nursing would be more ideal.
