Fundal to pubic bone not accurate

So I went to my 30 wk appt today the did the measurements And said everything looked fine, well I asked is she measuring ok? And I got a "yup" lol...but then she said that I will be getting ultrasounds now to check the size of baby because they are not getting accurate fundal to pubic bone measurements could this be because I am plus sized? I've only gained 7 pounds so far she said that is completely fine so I guess I'm just confused we go back in two weeks

    Fundal height measurements are highly inaccurate. I would put little stock into them. For instance, my fundal measurements have been 4 weeks ahead pretty much the entire pregnancy. No worries here.

    From what I read, the only time they worry is if there is a huge change one way or the other from previous measurements. If it were something to worry about I'm sure they would have discussed it with you and taken some steps to figure out the problem. Try not to worry!

    I saw my OB last week and was told that I am measuring 30 weeks when I was 32.5 weeks at the time. Freaked out of course but happened to see my specialist the next day and he explained that fundal heights are not accurate and due to my small frame (only 5' tall) my fundal length will never be accurate because it literally can't get any bigger. I've only put on 11 lbs and I'm 33.5 weeks now, basically I was told everyone is different so don't worry!!

    My OB hasn't measured me at all this time. I'm not sure if that's normal for a second pregnancy but she must not be worried?

    And OP I would say you probably have nothing to worry about. But a good excuse for an ultrasound!

    With my first pregnancy I always measured about 4-6 weeks behind.  Around 36 weeks the doctor ordered an ultrasound because I was only measuring 30 weeks and had any change for awhile.  Baby was perfectly fine and measuring right at 36 weeks, so got worried for nothing.

    This pregnancy I'm measuring about 6 weeks behind again.  They're definitely not accurate.  My doctor was a little concerned, but I told him the same thing happened with my first pregnancy.  He told me they won't worry unless I go a number of weeks with no change or start measuring smaller.

    My fundal measures on time the baby girl is measuring 2 weeks ahead they told me not to be concerned it is just an estimate

    same here, although I am plus sized and under 5' tall, so my number looks really skewed (3 weeks ahead) - the doc explained that they want to see how much of the belly is me that I had to start with and how much is actually baby, and since I am short, I baby will be sticking out farther because he has less length to stretch out in. I wouldn't worry till you see what the ultrasound says!

    Your not worries about to much fluid? I have polyhydramnios. I have to get checks. I measure bigger

    Nope. I've received 3 ultrasounds to measure fluids and she's just fine. I measured with DS the same way and my fluids were also just fine.

    My Dr. doesn't put much stock into fundal measurements. She reacted by doing an US, which was necessary, but it's nothing for me to be concerned about.
