My husband and I went to my anatomy scan yesterday. We clearly told the ultrasound technician lady that we were keeping the gender as a suprise for at the birth and didn't want to know... she does a brilliant job with the scan and explains everything we are looking at and near the end she says well that's definitely a boy!!! Omg my husband and I just looked at each other and she realised almost instantly what she had done and apologised but it's done now and the suprise is ruined.
My husband and I are so excited as we have 3 girls already and wanted boy but we also wanted the experience of baby being born and then being told it's a boy or girl. Very mixed emotions right now
Has this happened to anyone else??
Re: Ruined suprise
I had that happen when DD1 was born. I can't remember if I told her at the beginning, but towards the end, she goes "So you know it's a girl, right?" "Um...no...wasn't planning to either" She looked so mortified that I couldn't even bring myself to be angry at her, but I was soooo disappointed that my surprise had been ruined.
We did the same thing you are planning to do, and kept it to ourselves so that everyone else got to be surprised. In the end, we were happy to have our girl, and once she was in our arms, it didn't matter so much that we knew ahead of time. Now, almost 8 years later, it's become a funny story and it definitely made her a/s more memorable than either of the other kids' scans.
Congrats on your boy! I have always wanted both so I was so happy to find out I had a son last time. He's been such a joy!
Look at it this way, now you can plan a little better and know what colors to go with in the nursery. You probably don't want to hear this now but congrats! Boys are so much fun
That really bites but congrats on getting your dream boy
