Infertility

Male Fertility Supplements

My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years.  After about 10 months, I had completely convinced myself that there just had to be something wrong with me due to my past with ovarian cysts and a cervical cancer scare...  Come to find out, it's my husbands low sperm count.  Low meaning close to none...  He also has varicose veins which has not been weeded out as a factor quite yet and there's always surgery for that.  Our urologist put him on a male fertility supplement from a company called Coast Science.  I haven't been able to find many reviews on this but the one's I have seen are promising.  Men with the same issue as my husband being able to get their wives pregnant within a month of taking them.  Has anyone else tried this and been successful?

Re: Male Fertility Supplements

  • My DH has low count and low motility and after our first failed IVF cycle our RE recommended he go on this supplement https://www.theralogix.com/index.cfm?fa=products.conceptionxrmsf.default&dvsn=reprohealth  its the same company that I use for my pre-natal vitamins as well.  We don't know if it has worked yet because we are waiting until July for our next round of IVF, however my RE has said many of his patients have seen an increase in count and motility.

  • Thank you!!  I will look into this :)  Lots of luck to you!!
  • Just keep in mind it's expensive..But than again so is the entire IVF process and I hope you won't have to get to that!  My DH did see a urologist and had a procedure that upped his count but not enough that it would enable us to get pregnant on our own.

  • I know...being new to this and looking at all our options, I'm slowly realizing that everything is going to be expensive...Do you mind me asking what procedure he had done?  I do hope the Dr. thinks removing the varicose veins will make a big difference but I'm scared that he'll have it done and it doesn't work and there is $ we could save if IVF does become our only option...Oh the things that keep me up at night :(

  • He had an obstruction in the ejaculatory duct however the urologist who did the procedure nicked the urethra taking the catheter out and we didn't find that out until after going to a second urologist (infertility specialist) and now he has retrograde ejaculation so the count is still low because not all is coming out.  It's been quite the emotionally draining past 5 months.. We are on the right track and heading towards the ultimate goal of becoming pregnant of course but like i said it's taken a toll on us emotionally and physically.  Find a Urologist that specializes in Male infertility from day one though, they know best.  Hope it works out for you!

  • Oh gosh, I'm sorry you all had to go through that...I appreciate you talking to me about it though.  It's only been a little over a month since we've found out about my husband so hearing what everyone is going through I think is prepping me a bit.  Our Urologist does specialize in infertility and we've only seen him twice but happy so far.  My obgyn sent us to him and I definitely trust her so I feel like we're in good hands.  It's been really nice talking to you and good luck with your 2nd round in July :)
