December 2015 Moms

Texas mamas, stay safe!

with bill moving in ( in fact the rain just started as I type) wanted to reach out to everyone. Stay safe! We are honkered down listening to the wind and rain start! Thinking of all of us!

  • I'm just south of Houston and the bands come in like a monster, stay about 10 min and it's clear until the next.
  • Stay safe fellow Texans! We're about 80 miles south of Dallas, so we'll probably just get rain.
  • we are fine in San Antonio had some heavy rain, i actually went and stood in the rain and got a rain shower because i am unusual like that!
  • Boo on the rain! It was the last week of my girls swimming lessons and they keep getting cancelled with all all these thunderstorms we're getting. No flooding in our area yet.
    Stay dry!
  • This was today just south of Houston.
  • I'm from Louisiana and drove through Houston today to Waco.  As a seasoned hurricaner (yes, I just made up a word), that was the weakest storm ever!  I was slightly behind it but the roads were hardly wet and it wasn't even windy.  I guess I'm just used to hurricanes.  My mom was freaking out me driving to Texas today, but she worried for no reason.  I think the rains a few weeks ago were a lot worse (I had to cancel a trip to Houston because I couldn't use I-45)
  • All good so far in Waco! We only had scattered showers this afternoon.
  • This morning the wind and rain woke me up. A day late. But I agree, the storms over memorial weekend were way worse. Not that in complaining!
  • I'm right on the beach. I've been here since Thursday at Surfside Beach, TX. It's not as bad as it was supposed to be. I'm in a beach house on stilts only a couple steps from the water. They didn't even evacuate us. I hope the rain isn't too bad for you ladies that might have flooding!!

  • @Marchmellow2 I was cracking up watching the news yesterday, they had a reporter there and she was interviewing a local guy. Asking him about all the water in the road. His response was " nah, this is nothing. I've seen it so much worse, all the way up to the bridge" then she was like -oh ok well how about this wind?! Bad huh? And again he shut her down! Nope? I've been here when you can hardly stand up, this is nothing.

I was hysterical! It was brilliant! That guy is my new hero! Shutting down the media hype single handed!

Hahaha yessssssss! I think I saw that on the news too! All the people here were partying with their coolers in the flooded water. Singing drunken hurricane songs.
