Throwing up!

I've had my gastritis medicine already but I still can't stop throwing up! I have terrible nausea and I don't feel like having anything. My dr told me to keep taking my meds and try to eat small portions but I feel disgusted by everything! :'( I'm not even hungry! Any tips?! I know baby needs carbs right now and I feel guilty.

Re: Throwing up!

  • I wouldn't stress about baby needing anything from you... Baby will take what it needs. I have been throwing up this entire pregnancy (only gained 10 lbs at this point and 36+5 wks with twins!) Doctors are not worried and babies are estimated to be almost 7lbs each!

The baby is like a little parasite and will take what it needs from your body stores... However you will feel crappy. As long as you can keep water/Gatorade down you will be fine. Then start with bland foods! I'm sorry you're feeling so awful! Give yourself time for lots of rest and try not to stress!

  • I lived on graham crackers & lemonade for a week straight bc it was the only thing that didn't make me feel awful & everything was fine. In the past few weeks I eat like a bird bc there's little to no room & I just feel full. The baby is still growing & that's all that matters!

Thanks for answering ladies! Sadly everything everyone Recommends are foods that in allergic to (crackers, corn tortilla, etc) but I was actually able to eat some rice at lunch and my nausea has been better after that!
  • I would definitely think the most important thing is to stay hydrated. Like the others said baby will still get what they need from you regardless. It's really weird/annoying that usually the better hydrated you are the better you feel even though you really don't want a lot of liquid when you feel that way. If you like avocados or beans with the rice maybe that will help add even more nutrients without any strong flavor to make you feel sick. Hope you feel better soon!
  • Lipton makes a soup we call it red box soup (it literally comes in a red box) it's just noodles sand broth but it helps so much!
