Diaper rash

My son is 13 weeks old and has just developed a pretty bad diaper rash. I haven't had this issue until now, and I assume it's because he is pooping a lot more often now than he used to. We use pampers sensitive diapers and wipes and burts bees diaper rash cream. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for healing this? I've been using the burts bees the last 2 days and it's not any better so far. Not sure how long it's supposed to take to work.

    Make sure his skin is dry before you put the cream on. I love Burt's Bees products, but for my lo the regular creamy desitin clears any rash up, and then we use a&d ointment to prevent rashes. Normally I prefer to use more natural versions of bath and body products, but that was what I found worked best for diaper rash. Also, let him have some diaper free time for a few minutes a day to really let it air out. I like to sing a couple songs with her while she's on the changing pad so she's entertained.

    Thank you! I will try letting him air out. I think I put his diaper on too fast to avoid getting peed on!

    Haha been there before! If he tends to do that, maybe just loosely place the diaper over him for a few minutes so he still gets the air flow but it'll at least stop him from peeing up in the air.

    I stand by coconut oil for diaper rash. My oldest had a bad one when she was little and the coconut oil cleared it within 2 days.

    we have had the Worst diaper rash ever for a couple days now finally went to the dr. They suggest dabbing Malox on the bottom on the rash and drying baby on low no heat with a blow dryer. Then apply resinol. Now that it's clearing up we stopped resinol and now have switched to Vaniply. It's awesome stuff and my doctor highly recommended it! it helps moisture roll off her bottom instead of soaking in. Hang in there my LO is 14 weeks and just had the worst bout of Diarrhea that eventually led to the rash. The screaming during each changing was awful!

    Also, use a wet cloth instead of wipes if it's bad. The chemicals even in sensitive wipes are harsh on the rash. GL!

    We use the pampers sensitive wipes and diapers as well, they're the best! When my LO had a diaper rash we used Desitin Cream and the rash was gone within 24 hours!!

    airing out the skin will help a lot. I've even taken baby outside on a blanket diaper less for awhile to let it air out .

    Coconut oil is magic.

    I found out with my oldest that she was allergic to eggs from diaper rashes. She had developed moderate eczema but I didn't think that was terribly abnormal and then this awful rash started to where she would cry and cry any time she went poop and her rash would be raw it was awful. We were EBF and someone mentioned maybe something I was eating was upsetting her. So I first started with diary and that didn't work, then eggs.. That was is. I went off eggs 100% (like.... Even the tiniest bit of egg inside a baked good or whatever would start a rash again) and her rashes and eczema went away within a couple weeks. Never had rashes again!

    So, diet is something to consider when dealing with bad diaper rashes. :) good luck!

    Oh, and on a side note.. Cloth diapers help reduce the chances of getting rashes. Even the natural disposable diapers can still cause reactions in babies. I use a combination of disposable and cloth with this baby but we exclusively used cloth with my oldest and she rarely if ever had rashes , especially once I sorted out the egg allergy.

    I use huggies little snugglers and alzó the sensitive wipes as well. So far i havent had a problem. But with all my kids i use just the regular Boudreaux's butt paste. Within 24 hours its gone.

    I've used Triple Paste.  It comes in giant tubs, or smaller tubes.  I got it as a shower gift with my first & it always cleared up his rash right away.  I was a bit shocked when I went to get some more after we ran out - $20+ for a tub, but it works wonders!  Airing their little bums out helps too.  I know you're not supposed to, but I also use baby powder to get any left over moisture.  I just make sure to put it in my hand and then get it on their bums & diaper so I don't get it in their face.
