I've never in my life had a gag reflex. I can barely get through brushing my teeth in the morning. It's makes the morning sickness so much worse than it is. Any solutions?
No solutions here, but I am definitely in the same boat. I gag non-stop. When I'm out of breath, super hungry, brushing my teeth, even sometimes when the seat belt brushes against my neck. I was like this when I was pregnant with my son, too. The hyper-sensitive gag reflex was one of my first signs of pregnancy this time. Hope yours calms down some!
This started around 6-7 weeks for me in my last pregnancy and wore off for the most part around 14 weeks---but if I coughed too hard or caught a bad smell then I would still gag. It helped to immediately start drinking something or chewing on a piece of hard candy. The swallowing, especially something flavored helped me get it under control in the moment many times so I didn't wind up getting sick to my stomach.
