Breastfeeding and supplementing without pumping

I breastfeed DD, but need to supplement a little as well. Can I do a couple of bottles a day after a feeding without having to pump? She is always nurses first and it's mostly in the late afternoon that she screams for more food. I want to breastfeed mostly, but don't want to pump.

    You sure can. However, if she is not emptying your breasts when nursing, then your supply will go down if you don't pump after a feeding. I hate pumping too but I hate the cost of formula more. :-)

    Makes a lot of sense. I think she does a pretty good job of emptying the breast, but there just isn't enough there. I plan to supplement only when she seems like she needs it
