Formula Feeding

Organic - GMO free formula recommendations

Hello Momma's, thinking of using formula to supplement a feeding or two. Anyone have recommendations for an organic, GMO free formula?

Ok so I am not knocking Hipp or Holle formula as I have not used them personally (yet, I am waiting for a box of HIPP that a friend from Europe is shipping to me now and will test it out) BUT just wanted to point out to those looking, ingredient list is IDENTICAL to that of Enfamil, except sources are organic, so yah if that's your prerogative then sure buy it. BUT it is NOT some magical box of powdered breast milk as marketing would lead you to believe...
First few ingredients in BOTH read: skimmed milk, whey, vegetable oils (palm, rapeseed, sunflower) etc etc... Not going to quote the entire list... See attached info OR go to each manufacturer website and verify for yourself...

ETA: as for personal experience, my first DD was born in Switzerland, which is where HOLLE is FROM and when we lived there I did not know ANY mom who actually used that brand NOR Hipp for that matter. Our hospital didn't use them either and you would think that if it was truly like BM they would promote it like heck. So yah, don't let yourselves be manipulated by marketing.
  • I've never used Holle formula (only cereal) but we have had really good luck with Hipp. Our twins love it, we found a great site to purchase from and to be honest, I think it just smells so much better than some of the other brands. It definitely dissolves easier in water, not sure if that has to do with it being organic?

Do you mind sharing where you purchase it from?  We also use HiPP to supplement our twins and have been using Amazon so far.
  • @DrD30 - britsuperstore(dot)com is where I have been buying it from. They ship extremely fast and have the best shipping rates that I've seen. I've also had to contact them about a lost package (once) and they were VERY easy to work with. Their replacement package showed up a few days later and then so did the lost one so I just sent it back. Very nice people.
You can also get it at britishcornershop(dot)com although they recently put restrictions on the amounts of formula you can order at one time. Since we have twins and we tried to order for about two months at a time, that didn't work for us as well. And, if I remember right, they have a rewards-type program where you can save money on subsequent purchases.
  • What about honest???

I will check that out.  Thank you
