Give your symptoms to your SO

I saw this on another forum and thought it was a fun idea.  What pregnancy symptoms would you like your significant other to experience for 24 hours?

I would LOVE for my husband to deal with the nausea, vomiting, frequent peeing, and just feeling uncomfortable.

  • Pregnancy symptoms not so much.  He can borrow the anxiety disorder for a bit though.  I can't get him to understand how hard it sometimes is to do even every day stuff because of this all consuming fear of everything....

  • @Boobopgirl I'm so sorry you feel that way! Big hugs! I can sort of sympathize because he's so laid back about the whole baby thing and every time I think about something baby related i get overwhelmed!
  • @LaurenNewph Thanks.  Usually it's not so bad, but my FIL has been hospitalized for 3 weeks and it will be months before he fully recovers and so we are travelling every weekend to help with meals/lawncare/general house stuff that he can't do.  I also just took on 2 extra kids during the week because school is out and I just feel like things are so out of control and I stress about taking good care of my baby/getting the right amount of food/fluids/exercise/rest etc.

  • the acid reflux... a 24hr break from that would be nice

  • I can't decide between the bladder kicks/"pee"-mergencies because he thinks it's so funny when that happens to me OR the uncomfortable sleeping/insomnia because he gets frustrated that I move around so much.

  • Bladder kicks and frequent urination! Then he will understand why I despise keeping super hydrated all I hear from him is that I'm not drinking enough water -__-
  • The constant bathroom runs and the back pain! I think he'd be more willing to give me a back rub if he only knew! I'd also love for him to feel her kick around for a day, it's the coolest/strangest thing I ever felt and wish he could experience it
  • Oooo...I would give him all the hemorrhoids in the world though.  He apparently finds those hilarious.  Here, you try them then...

  • The swollen feet, constipation and the atigue from first trimester.
  • Not that I hate it cause I truly love feeling baby kicks, but I want him to know what it feels like to be beat up from the inside for sure! and he can have allllll the round ligament pains- seriously though RLP hurts like a bitch! Nobody warned me about that
  • The fatigue. He is always accusing me of "lounging," but I would like to see him try to get anything done when you work 9-10 hours and every fiber of your being is just TIRED.
Oh, and the cute little kicks at 5:30 am, after being up till midnight cleaning.
  • Definitely the acid reflux, and I'd want him to wear a baby bump around for a day to see how it feels! He gets a kick out of watching me get in and out of the car and roll over in bed, all while groaning of course ... I'd like to see him try!
  • Lightning crotch. He tells me to enjoy it while it lasts. I told him that's like kicking a guy in the balls, and telling them to enjoy the pain while it lasts.
  • I should add that when my husband tells me I'm experiencing symptoms bc I'm either dehydrated or because I haven't done my exercises....I glare at him. :-w
  • barrelocarol, I would want him to feel the kicking. I know he is jealous that I carry around the baby all day and get to feel him move. It's also such a weird sensation sometimes and I don't think he gets how weird it is!

And, I'd like him to feel the baby hiccuping in his butt. I told him I felt hiccuping there and he flat out didn't believe it was possible. OH, it's possible!
  • The baby wiggles. Partially because I could use a break from my over active baby and partially because it's such a personal experience that he doesn't fully get to share.
    *Siggy Warning*
