C-sections

After c-section panties...

So, I'm having my 4th and final c-section, and for the life of me, I don't want to be uncomfortable after delivery with panties on my incision line.  I was miserable with the first 3, and I refuse to be that way again. What panties do you mama's suggest I buy for the first few weeks of recovery?  Nothing too expensive as I know they will get messed up and I'll be living in them!  I know I'll have the horrid mesh panties in the hospital and perhaps after (my hospital didn't give me extras last time), but I need other options.  Any ideas?

  • Honestly, the hospital underwear are the best. I found some on Amazon and ordered. I had granny panties on and they were so uncomfortable so I ordered the hospital ones! And then I will just throw them away.

  • I did like the granny panties! I made sure to get the ones that go super high so you don't have a risk of the waistband hitting the scar

  • @emaddock, what are they called on Amazon?  Not sure my hospital will give them out to go home with, since they didn't last time.

@FloridaStanley, any particular brand?  I generally like the ones with a thicker waistband, but am having hell finding some.

  • I just searched in Amazon for hospital underwear. The kind our hospital provided and what I bought was by medline.

My 4th and last too! I wear waist high grannies, about 3 sizes bigger then what I'd normally wear. I get new ones at target each time because they can get gross.
  • I <3 the hospital mesh panties. I wore them 2-3 weeks. You can wash and dry them.

Stash them throughout your stay if they don't give them extras when you leave. Same thing you'd do with diapers for the baby, just for you instead. And another fan of high waisted grannies.
  • I'm loved my c-panties from Buy Buy Baby! They're high-waisted and give support like a binder, plus they have a little panel of medical-grade silicone over the incision site which helps with healing and prevents my pants from rubbing.
  • The hospital underwear are the most comfortable right after cs.

    Good luck with everything!

  • We grabbed every pair of the hospital mesh underwear that was in the room. Our nurse went and got is 2 fresh packs to put in our bags too.
So far I haven't been able to get any other underwear on.
