Did you see the HB? At my first scan 6+3 we saw it but they didn't have an internal Doppler so we couldn't hear it. At the second one 8+4 was internal as well but better equipment with a Doppler so we could see and hear.
When I was pregnant with my first I heard the heartbeat at the very first ultrasound. My doctor did warn me that it might be faint and won't be able to hear it. I know a few moms that didnt hear the heartbeat until 12 weeks.
Saw the HB at 6 weeks on ultrasound but wasn't able to hear. Had an appointment at 10 weeks and the doc was able to find it with the Doppler! I believe that it's sometimes hard to hear with a Doppler until 12 weeks though!
I didn't hear the heartbeat until Friday at 11 weeks. I had seen the heartbeat on u/s at 5,6,8 and 10 weeks (I'm high risk) but had never heard it.
At my 10 week appt I asked the nurse if I could please hear the heartbeat and she said they can't always find it on doppler that early. Even when I asked this week at 11 weeks I had to tell her I promised not to freak if she couldn't find it. It took a while, but we did find it.
So FWIW, I think the external dopplers may not work until later on in the pregnancy and that many may have heard it during an u/s with an internal doppler probe.
I saw the heartbeat at my first appointment (8 and a half weeks). My doctor said we would not listen to it, as he waits until the second trimester to throw sound at the baby.
7w 2d saw but didn't hear heartbeat. Doppler was tried when I was 10w but they couldn't hear it so they did an internal ultrasound and I heard the little heart beat. I have another u/s on the 25th so I'm sure I will hear the heartbeat again. I'm 11w1d
Some travsvaginal machines do not have a doppler which means that you can't hear the heartbeat. My first ultrasound was 7 weeks and my next one is not until 13 weeks. I couldn't wait so I bought a fetal heart doppler so I could hear the heartbeat at home whenever I want. It helps ease my mind. Www.fetaldoppler.net I bought mine for $42.
How was the ultrasound performed? I went in at 6 weeks 4 days and the tech told me we may or may not hear the HB. We were fortunate enough that we got to hear our lil baby's heartbeat. I think it depends on the pregnancy and such. Good luck!
I'm sorry to hear you had a MMC. I had a similar situation last December where the baby developed to approx. 8.5 weeks but heart stopped.....very sad and was hard to work through but don't forget to remind yourself that it's not your fault. xo
