Practice Breathing?

Anyone else noticing a rhythmic pulsing closer to the ribs? It's definitely not hiccups but it's so weird - this is the first time I've ever been able to actually see it and it's my third pregnancy (if, of course, that's what it is? It really doesn't look or feel like it could be arms/legs)

This is my third pregnancy as well and I actually just looked this up this morning because I wasn't sure if it was possible to see and feel baby breathing in utero. Right around my belly button you can feel and see a rhythmic up down movement which I swear it has to be breathing. Forgot to add sometimes it almost seems to speed up a little like when a newborn is sleeping and they breathe a little quicker sometimes

  • I have had this too and thought it was a heartbeat, never considered breathing
  • Lol I could have wrote this! I was just asking my mum the other day what it could be.. It feels like she's breathing, in and out. This is my 3rd pregnancy as well and never had it with my other two. And my mum was like "well I suppose if you can feel hiccups then you can feel breathing"

This is my second pregnancy but I've noticed it too. Not hiccups, it's not strong and lasts a lot longer than hiccups do. I notice it more in the evenings when I've slowed down for the day.

  • I've noticed this too!
  • I've had this too! I planned on asking my Dr about it! Good to hear I'm not the only one.
  • My dr said it is one of our arteries. We can feel is pulsing when the baby is in a certain position.
