Telling DH

So, I found out I am pregnant on Friday, and I decided I wanted to wait to tell DH on Father's day for a special surprise. I am chomping at the bit though and am finding it hard to get away with my symptoms at this point. Anyone else waiting or waited to tell DH?

Oh girl I don't know how you are doing it! I about busted at the seems just waiting until my DH got home from work last friday when I found out during my lunch break! I think its a super cute idea, but Im not a patient person so there is no way I could do that!

Good luck with that! DH and I were both standing over the pregnancy test waiting for that little pink line. I envy your willpower!

I could never... I could barely wait for my husband to be fully awake before I blurted it out. I feel kind of bad in hindsight that he was 1/2 asleep though.

I didn't make it a single second. I fully expected a BFN, looked at the test, and in my unutterable shock yelled from the bathroom to my still sleeping husband: "Holy #@$&, get in here! I'm pregnant!" So, my hat is certainly off to you :-)

Thanks girls - I am dying here. I am a teacher, so I have free time on my hands, and I am chomping at the bit to tell him. I almost told him this afternoon...I want someone to know!

Another one here who could never go more than a day without telling (he'd wonder why I wasn't drinking our weekly local craft beer sampling on Saturday night too).

I did, however, manage to wait most of the day to tell him a cute way. We are closing on a new (to us) house a week from Tuesday and a couple weeks ago, the day I got my BFP, we were going to measure some rooms and make some decisions about painting. I went and stood in what will be the baby's room and called him in there. I said I have an idea about a paint color for in here. I handed him a color chip brochure. When he opened it, the BFP test was taped to the inside and I wrote "Welcome to the nursery!" Kind of cheesy, but I think he got a big kick out of it.

I want to wait until Father's Day, but I know I won't be able to. I'm waiting on my order from shutterfly to get here and that's how I will tell him. I'm hoping it will come tomorrow or Tuesday! Every night I argue with myself to keep my mouth shut!

I found out on the 9th, and the had a positive digital on the 12th (the day AF was due), planned on waiting for father's day, but I went ahead and got his present ready (a boy and a girl onsie that said I love daddy, a father's day card, and the positive test), just in case I couldn't hold it in lol. I told him this morning!

I came running out of the bathroom with the test in my hand. He was just taking his first sip of coffee, poor bastard. I was so excited, "Look, look, it's positive!" And he was all like..."What? I can't see anything? It's barely there." So I started yelling, "It's right in front of your effing face! Look!"

I thought about waiting for Father's Day but instead had our 2 yr old tell him on the phone "Mommy has a baby in her belly Daddy." (Work has him cross country until the fall).

I could not wait to tell him. Personally, I never would think of waiting more than a few hours to tell him, unless he was out of town or something. I just wouldn't be able to keep it from him.

I think it's cute if you could hold out. I waited 3 days b/c my H was out of town and that almost killed me. I would have sent it to him in a text...but i did that with #2 and i didn't want to do the same thing all over again.

I know I would be in deep trouble if I waited that long to tell my dh! Not that I could have anyways. Nope! I peed on the stick, set my timer and waited then immediately went and woke him up! I sat on the edge of the bed next to him and started giving him a hug and he said love you.. So I replied I love you too daddy! He was like really?!? Yup! Come look! It was a sweet moment. I was totally convinced we were out and I should have been getting af so I was too shocked to even think about doing anything cutesy.

He got to remain oblivious for the first test- the line was too faint. I went to the store and got a digital and as soon as it said "pregnant", I calmly walked in our room with it and held it up to him.
