Low heart rate for baby at first ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound at 6w2d. I'm currently 8w today. The baby's heart rate was 110 bpm. The technician said it was low but normal for being so early. I read that boys tend to have a lower heart rate than girls. My husband and I will be happy with either a girl or boy, as long as it's healthy, but I was wondering if anyone has ever had this experience and if it was accurate based on the initial bpm?

  • 110 at 6+2 is fine. I'm sure by your next it will be much higher. Mine was in the 90's at 6+3 and 178 at 8+4.

  • Whew! Thank you so much, willashbaby. I was a little worried but Feeling better now.
  • The heartrate has nothing to do with the sex of the baby. That is just an old wives tale. Mine was 134 at 7w3d and 174 at 10w 2d everyone is different!

110 at 6+2 seems totally normal. I was 157 at 7+3 then 126 at 8+3, doctor didn't seem at all worried at last appt. Normal is between 120 and 160 but lots can be 110 to 180.
