My buttercup is due in September so since it'll be the beginning of fall, I just wanted to know when newborn pictures are usually taken as far as how old infants are after giving birth.
Typically the hospital will offer some. Mine were less than 24 hours after birth. I also had a photographer some to the house when LO was about a month old.
My photographer like to schedule them when the baby is 2 weeks old or less because the younger they are the more likely they will be sleepy/cooperative.
Though I had both my daughters' pictures taken at 10 days old and they both were alert and awake the entire time... So no sweet sleepy newborn photos for me.
My photographer (she specializes in newborn) tries to do hers at 10 days or less. They are more likely to sleep most of the time and you can get more photos taken and more accomplished.
My photographer recommends at least after the baby has his/hers first medical appointment after baby comes home from the hospital just to make sure everything is ok. Also 14 days or younger since they are more sleepy and flexible. You will get really cute baby pictures. @mommyme15
My photographer told me to call her as soon as the baby was discharged from the hospital because she liked to do them as soon as possible. For her she said it has to do with how often they sleep and it makes it easier to pose them.
