What were your pre labor symptoms?

Hey guys,
I'm a FTM and this is my first time posting but I needed some advice. I went to a fair earlier and had some food while walking around. I came home and I've been so sick ever since. I don't think it's the food though because hubby had all of the same food I did. Could it be a pre labor upset stomach kind of thing? Has something similar ever happened to someone else? I'm 37 weeks.

None. There are no symptoms besides your water breaking and contraction. Even dilation means squat.

    Edited: didn't finish my thought

  • He also isn't pregnant. Food reacts differently with our bodies while we are pregnant. Unless you start having contractions that intensify or your water breaks, there's nothing going on. It could be just you wanting to go into labor soon, totally understandable!
  • It could be a "pre labor" symptom. My dr told me our bodies do many weird things in the weeks before labor begins. One of those things she told me to watch for is nausea and even vomiting or diarrhea. I wouldn't say you're going into labor or anything, but it could explain why your body responded the way it did!

  • I went to pee and saw a lil blood almost pinkish color then my contractions came on hard
  • Hm... I had the classic signs of labor... (Heavy contractions, lost my mucus plug, had spotting, dilated 1cm, nausea, diareah) 7 weeks before I had to be induced 10 days overdue... So honestly the only way to know is when you actually go into labor... Only way to know for sure at home, is if your water breaks.
But yes.. That's a sign that your getting ready to.. But your 37 weeks.. Of course your getting ready to. Lol.
Pretty exciting knowing it could be any day now right??
  • Thanks for the feedback guys! Still not feeling too hot but I'm going to just give it until the morning! I'm just worried because my moms water never broke with all 3 of her pregnancies. Well see though, waiting it out sucks! So ready for my little man to be here!
  • I had a sharp pain going up from my pubic bone all the way to the top of my belly today when I crouched over. It went away after about a minute but it still freaked me out. Anyone know what that could be? Could it be preterm labor?
  • I double that no
  • I was induced with my first but with my second my water didn't break until minutes before she was born! I felt a bit nauseous the night before but I didn't think anything of it, just took an extra zofran and put it down to heartburn/reflux. The following morning I felt fine but then a few hours later randomly vomited without feeling nauseous. I started with mild period cramps (constant) and then more intense pain in my lower back which was intermittent. I was already in the bath so just lingered a bit longer than I normally would to see if it eased off. I then started to think it might be labour but an hour or so after that it was obvious and less than 6 hours later she was born. My waters broke as I got the urge to push- it felt like I pushed out a huge water balloon and suddenly there was her head x
  • I had intense pressure every time I stood up it felt like his head was hitting my cervix. I was on bed rest for a week (36w) I couldn't sit or stand without crying. Then I got up one day feeling so much better. I felt so much better I suggested we go to the movies that day. We never made it My water broke that day around 3:00. My husband was just leaving work
Our son he was born 12 hours later at exactly 37 weeks!
This time I started getting that feeling around 20- 25 weeks. It's not constant so I don't think it means anything. (36w tomorrow )
The first time I didn't have any contractions till hours after the Pitocin started. And no BH this time either.
The body is a bit of a mystery. Every person is different. Every lobor is different so it's hard to say you will have any indicators before labor.
  • Just so you know, it's not extremely common for your water to break until you're far into labor and usually by that time you're already in the hospital because you have intense contractions that are at least five minutes apart. Everyone's labor is different, but don't rely on water breaking being your first sign.

My personal experience, were contractions that we're extremely painful and radiated from my lower back to the front of my belly. They last about 2 min and were 4-5 min apart. For most, it's really obvious when you go into labor. Don't worry too much about not knowing because it will be obvious :) good luck!
