Ftm freaked out... Pic included.

My son is 3 weeks old. Went to change his diaper and there seems to be what looks like blood in his stool. He has not had a fever. And he's not acting any different. He's sleeping and eating just fine. I did start him on his polyvisol today so idk if that cld be it. Shld I be concerned and take him to the er or wait it out and call the ped on Monday?

    My doctor said a little spotting is normal to call if they have a fever. But to be safe I'd call the doctor or a 24 hour help line. They gave us a nurse line to call during the night. Good luck momma

    I would call the hospital advice line but don't wory too much unless they tell you otherwise- I had the same thing happen right after my dd was born and our doctor said it was ok but to let them know if it happened again. Do call though, just to be super safe.

    Spotting is normal for GIRL babies...I only have girls but I have never heard of spotting for boy babies

    New medicine can sometimes cause spotting in the diapers in boys too. If it's excessive or it's every diaper change I'd definitely consider calling your pediatrician.

    His stool today is more brown then yellow. I'm calling the ped first thing tmrw morning. Thank you for everyone's advice!

    Save diaper, take to doctor they will test for blood. Could be a food intolerance or something else GI.
