Excited But Nervous

Tomorrow I will be 6 week pregnant with baby #3. I am 26 years old. About this time when I was pregnant with my second I started bleeding and was told I was having a threatened miscarriage. I continued to spot for a couple of weeks. If finally stopped and my hubby and I could finally breathe a sigh of relief. But then the morning sickness started. But not just in the morning but all day. I could not keep anything down. Then at 13 weeks I woke up to about a cup and a half of blood gushing down my leg. I was so scared and knew that I was losing the baby. We rushed to the hospital and I was able to see the baby over an ultrasound. The baby was fine but I had a tear in my placenta. They sent us home with the news that we had a 50% chance that the baby would make it. I was so scared and had no idea how we were going to tell our 4 year old girl!! I ended up not losing the baby! The entire pregnancy I was extremely sick. I had to go to the hospital at least once a week for fluids. I literally hated food! I only gained 15 pounds but had a beautiful baby girl at 37 weeks when my water broke. (It was so worth it!!!) Anyone else go thru something similar and had a better pregnancy the 3rd time around?
I'm sorry this is so lengthy! ;;)

Re: Excited But Nervous

  • Im sorry I don't have any advice but I am so sorry for your loss and that traumatic experience. I am pregnant with #3 currently and have gone through 3 early miscarriage, one that resulted in a tubal ruptured, so I understand any anxiety that you may be feeling during the early days. It does get better, as Im sure you know! Fx for you!

  • Welcome and congrats!! I don't have a similar experience, but had two miscarriages before my son, so I still have the anxiety in the beginning. Hopefully this pregnancy for you is much smoother sailling :)

  • So glad to hear your baby was okay and that you are having another. I'm nervous right now because I had an early miscarriage before in between my sons. The real nerves will start though once I get out of first tri because I'm terrified of preterm labor. My first came unexpectedly at 33 weeks (he'll be turning 4 tomorrow! ) and I started having preterm labor at 28 week with my second but they were able to stop in and I spent the next 9 weeks on bed rest. He was born at 37 weeks.
My biggest fear with this pregnancy is that I will go into preterm labor and not realize it until it is too late.
