Maternity bras

So hey girls I bought 2 sports maternity bras at destination maternity yesterday and they fit so comfortable I just got those 2 . The lady asked if I wanted a lounging bra or a soft underwire bra to be comfortable but I said no because I thought they would be perfect for everyday use . the thing is I was wereing my sports bra all day today and my boobs were hurting is it because it's a sports bra ? Should I have got a lounging bra ? Is it not good to were the sports one all day ? I'm a first time mom so that why I got them without hearing others say what's best I feel like I messed up ? Should I go by 2 lounging bras ? Help :((

Re: Maternity bras

  • I would just get them at target. I liked my target ones way more than the destination maternity ones I bought. Plus they're cheaper so I wouldn't feel as bad if I outgrew them or if I didn't like them.

  • Are they also nursing bras also?  I am just wearing my normal bras until it comes time to switch to the nursing bras.  I would just wear/buy what you normally want/need.  I don't think I have ever had a lounging bra other than maybe a sports bra.

  • I've been switched over to a nursing bra for a few months because my boobs have grown so much :p Wearing a sports bra all the time may not be the best if it's causing you discomfort. It can constrict things, and I know for myself, by the end of the day, I'm usually relieved to take it off. I believe I have a Bravado nursing bra I got at a discount store, no underwire or anything. I'd look for something maybe a little less restrictive and see if that helps at all, or even just going for your normal bra in a bigger size, if that works.
  • I got a soft underwire nursing bra from Motherhood (Jessica Simpson brand) and I love it. I've been wearing it since my first trimester. It's so comfortable and will last my entire pregnancy and through nursing. It was about $35, which is less than I paid for bras pre-pregnancy!
  • I grew from a big B to a D through this pregnancy. I just went to Victoria's Secret and got two that fit for the remainder. I am so uncomfortable all the time my boobs are not something I want to worry about. Small price to pay

  • I found some really comfy jersey knit bras at target. And it has the bottom of a sports bra instead of wire. It's very comfy and only $12! I also bought a breastfeeding bra from Walmart that you can snap and unsnap for easy feeding.
  • I found a nice mommy lingerie store online called Hotmilk (if you visit the website you HAVE to watch their sizing video. It's hilarious!!). So far they are the only store I've found to sell Bras as nice as VS in nursing style AND in my size. I was already a 32ddd and so yeah, there is no finding what I need now in stores. Sucks.
  • I'll look at target then . & yeah there nursing bras they just unsnap :) they were all sale for 20 $$$$ so that's why I got them :) I might of just needed a bigger size I feel like I went from a peach to a Melon in 2 weeks :(
  • I went from a 32D to a 36C so far...and I'm guessing may get bigger?  I just got a normal underwire at VS to tide me over (only $25 at semi-annual sale!).
  • I am a 38DDD and can not find a nursing bra or tank that fits! Thanks ladies, I will try some of the places you mentioned.
  • I got two t-shirt bras (not sure if they're the same thing as a lounging bra) but I love them. It's got a stretchy band on the bottom and regular bra straps, plus they're nursing bras. I got them from Motherhood. They're comfortable.
