Lactation cookies

has anyone made any? How were they? Did they work?

Re: Lactation cookies

  • I am planning on making them but bought all the stuff and was not able to find Brewers yeast so had to order online. Waiting on that and then will try them. I did get some from babies r us and they were gross. In didn't notice any differences in my milk supply with the already made kind

My husband made some oatmeal & chocolate ones. My supply has gone up, but I'm also drinking 3-5 cups of mother's milk tea, taking calcium magnesium tablets, eating oatmeal every day, eating a lot of protein, drinking a ton of water, and pumping. We have a LOT of issues. The cookies are yummy though.

I've been eating them for a few weeks. I think they taste great.

We made them. I've noticed an increase (not substantial but noticeable). They taste decent. We made the cookie balls and then froze them. One batch made 8 dozen 2 tsp scoops. .
  • I have a few no bake recipes I was going to try. I had to order the Brewers yeast off Amazon because I can't find it in stores. I'm producing plenty to feed LO I just want a little boost in pumping. I hate tea or I would try the mothers milk tea.

@cassieegtmeier I used a website called PureFormula.com and it cost me $5.91 no tax and free shipping. It arrived in 3 days instead of the 5-7 business days the site stated. I had found it in stores (same brand and size) for $20.
  • A friend sent me a sampler of Liquid Gold Cookies out of Santa Rosa, CA. They are seriously delicious and my milk supply has been excellent!! Just ordered more for the coming month. :)
  • I'm interested in making these. Anyone want to share their recipes? :)
  • I haven't made any yet, waiting on my Brewers yeast, but these are the recipes I am going to use.
  • Yes! I got a good recipe when DD was born from a friend. They're delicious.

  • I'm glad I read this! I just got an order from Liquid Gold Cookies - they are seriously good. Thanks for the recommendation @twodreamers
  • @mnbando you are so welcome!! Enjoy!!
  • You can buy brewers yeast at gnc stores if you have one near you
  • Most bulk stores sell ground flax and brewer's yeast.  I actually whipped up a batch of chocolate haystacks yesterday, and just added some ground flax and brewer's yeast.  I did add water to the flax as called for in another recipe, so they didn't firm up quite the same way, but they are chocolatey delicious, and not $22 a bag like the only ones I could find around me were.  The yeast and flax also go into my morning oatmeal - the cost for a 2 week supply was $2.80.
  • I found Brewers yeast in the healthfood section of HEB (local grocery store) and Flax Seed at my local Target as well.
  • I bought the Brewers yeast at vitamin shop & the flax seed at my local supermarket
