Exercise balls

I bought an exercise ball today, the biggest one mostly to sit on while I work on the computer...any moms use one for labor or in prep for labor or use one for exercises? Is it safe, I am 30 weeks and don't see myself bouncing around but I'm hoping it will help with some groin and back pain from sitting at work...

  • I used one w both my kids but not until I was 36 weeks. I think as long as you aren't bouncing away you'll be ok! It helped me a lot during my contractions with my second while in the hospital. The only fail is that I forgot my ball at home and had to use the hospitals. They put a towel on it for me but it really grossed me out knowing other women had used it...I know it was sanitized buuuuut still weird to me.

  • I love mine. I have been using it since about 15 weeks when my hips were killing me. It's really great for posture and keeping your pelvis open so they say baby can go head down easier and it might make labor easier. I like to sit on it and roll my hips and sometimes bounce a little.
  • My doctor told me it would t help me with groin and hip pain (my hips and pelvic bones are separating. I have to wear a prenatal cradle) but it does seem to do me some good to stretch my back with it. I plan on using it if I go Through early stages of labor this time (with my first, I had nothing at all, until my water broke out of the blue in the middle of the night, then contractions from there on out were 2.5 mins apart!)
  • How did they diagnose you with that I've had some severe groin pain but the doc just said round ligament uhh
  • My hospital suggested to bring one for labor
  • I used it during my first white a lot at home and it helped my hips and back. Also, rolling my hips in circles would cause BH contractions, so after 40 weeks I used it all the time. It didn't put me into labor though... I probably used it for 15 minutes in labor
