Boob Talk!

I'm just asking out of curiosity and for the fun of it =)

Mommies-to-be-again: Did your pregnancy boobs go back to their normal size, stay big, or get even smaller after baby was born?

First time Mommies-to-be: What do think the girls are going to do?

After my first child, my already petit chest shrank down even more, and not proportionately at all! I had one B and one D for nearly a month before they finally both just shriveled to an A. I can't help but wonder what will happen this time, I can't afford to lose anymore without adopting the physique of tween! Haha

Re: Boob Talk!

  • Nope barely B's before my babygirl....C's after. This pregnancy I've gone to barely fitting in D's....my husband is a fan though!
  • Loading the player...
  • I have gone from a mid rang B to a solid D+, and I'm only 28 weeks... I'm scared of how big they will be when my milk comes in... I pray they go back to normal, but I have my doubts. I am fully aware that even if they shrink back, they will never be the same. Sad.
  • I'm a small B normally and when my milk comes in I become a very full D! My boobs went back to normal w my first. My second ruined them though :( I can't even imagine how much worse they can get w a third!

  • Mine shrank, but they did still look nice despite their itty bittiness, I think they look great now even though they're only between a B/C at this point, just thinking wishfully that they'll stick around this time =) I think the ol' man is secretly hoping so as well haha

I'm a FTM and I'm curious. I know that when you breastfeed they loose their mass and size and all that but does it still happen or not happen as bad if you don't breastfeed?
  • For me, they're exactly the same as they were before breastfeeding. I went back to all my pre-baby bras when I was finished nursing.

I honestly don't know, I breastfed and plan to again so we shall see.

Everything I've read says that pregnancy is what changes your breasts, not breastfeeding. I think BF is an easy scapegoat because they do get larger and then smaller and back to normal once you wean, but they'll be different no matter what just because you've been pregnant. Mine are just a little less firm but nothing that's so bad that I would trade them back.

  • I'm a double D and haven't grown at all this pregnancy. I was the same for my MC but they grew so much in 9 weeks. Then they deflated.
For DDs they were perky before MC. I sure dread the sagging and deflation after BF.

With my last pregnancy, I went from a full C to a full D and they stayed full D's. This pregnancy, I started with the full D and now I'm up to DD and spilling over. I purchased all new bras at around 18 weeks and I'm coming out of the new ones now. Heaven knows what will happen when I'm engorged. My only saving grace is that through all the changes, my nipples still point straight ahead with or without a bra and not the slightest bit down LOL.
  • I got mine done after my second after breastfeeding they just didn't go back to normal and I will probably get them done again a year or two after this one my fourth it will then be 10 years after having them done the first time and your supposed to get them every 10 years anyway when you have implants.
  • I had an A before I got pg the first time, i ballooned up to a D, and then after I stopped breastfeeding 14 months later, I remained a C cup. I'm at a D currently.. Lol

All my life I hoped for boobs, and now I got em.. And have no idea what to do with em ;)

Enjoy them! As a chairman of the itty bitty titty committee, I can only hope for some lasting boob! Congratulations on your new found boobies haha
  • With my first I was a full B, got up to a DD while pregnant. Then after they went back to a B, but lost their perkiness :( I'm hoping to keep some of the boobage this time (please please please)

  • I was a C on one side and a D on the other before becoming pregnant. Now at 33 weeks, they are exactly the same. The only change is the color of my nipples... I really don't want them to get any bigger but I'm sure they will once my milk comes in.
  • My first pregnancy I went from a D to a DD and stayed that way this pregnancy ( my third) I have no idea what I am but it's bigger than a DD and I'm hoping to hit the gym once I'm cleared and bring them down to a D. Although I'm also planning to BF so idk how realistic that is.
  • I was an almost A pre pregnancy. Now I'm a c cup. If they go back then it's no loss for me.
  • I was 32A pre pregnancy. I'm now barely a full B cup.. I'm hoping they don't go back to an A after breastfeeding!
  • I was a b and went up to a large c with my 1st. I'm now a dd with this lil one!!!! I don't foresee them getting smaller after she's born either!
And I know it's tmi, but my nipples used to be pink and now they're almost brown! It all happened in like a week!
  • Haha my boobs haven't changed at all yet! My nipples however, have changed from a pretty pink to a dark and scary purple lmao [-X
  • Let me re-phrase my original response since I don't think I answered your question. When I lost all my pregnancy weight after DS my boobs went back to normal size but what they don't tell you is... They sag. Like sandbags. The "perkiness" you know of before children....that is gone. Also, your areolas??? Omg. Horrible.

But these babies are sooooooo worth it :)

  • I'm so confused by my boobs. I feel like they were way bigger pre-pregnancy? I'm wearing all the same bras, but now that I think of it, my strapless bras are pretty much worthless now so I guess I have increased a cup size. I was between a C and D pre-baby, but I think it really just depends on the brand bra, so I really have no clue what size I'm actually wearing!! I'm hoping for an easy transition back to normal after baby, but I'm sure that will not happen!!!
  • With my first I was a c pre-baby and went up to a D . After breastfeeding went down to a b/c ish . Then later back to D now I'm a dd+ so not sure what will happen this time :/
  • I was a B most of my life (sometimes barely a B), then before pregnancy I gained several pounds and went to a C. I honestly liked the C's. Now I'm a D (hubby is thrilled) and I think they're uncomfortable! Especially when sleeping. Also it took me forever to get hubby to stop being so grabby. Men just don't understand overly sensitive boobs! :-S

And FTM, so not sure what to expect! Planning on BF.
  • Went from C to DD/E, then down to a D. Boobs are more droopy but nothing a push-up bra can't handle.
  • I was a 32B prior to my first child. I have basically been pregnant or nursing for over 4 yrs now. I am now a 38C/36D and mine have never shrunk back down. I think a lot has to do with the fact that I have never gotten back down to my pre baby #1 weight.

yes this is indeed true :(   Once I was done breastfeeding, back to my pre pregnancy weight, toned as much as I could be, my boobs were one thing that didn't go back to normal. I could tone my legs/butt/arms but boobs I don't think possible- unless anyone has some hidden secrets on that one ;)

I remember I went to VS to get some new bras and find out what size I was because I had no idea at the point. The girl pulled out a bunch of different styles and I tried them on. She then yells out to another associate, " I think we need more push up bras!"   I went out to the car after and did a little crying pity party haha, I can laugh now because after looking at my son and this baby to be as above says, they are so worth the saggy and deflated boobs!

  • Maybe it's TMI but I haven't noticed that DH really cares at all that they're more saggy. I don't think the interest has been lacking... He was especially excited when milk wasn't coming out of them anymore!

  • I've always been a size 6 with D boobs and they where perky D's they havnt grown much in my pregnancy I wear a DD right now could prob go an E but my boobs have sagged and I'm only 19 so there goes my nice boobies hahaha also FTM
  • FTM: I went from a lovely C, to a DD...and now I'm spilling out of those bras with 9 weeks left. I refuse to buy more "new" bras, but i have a feeling I'll be out soon shopping around. My nipples/areolas went through all sorts of changes, and while I plan on BF...I'm terrified of what is going to happen to my boobage when she's here and using them hard.
  • I was a B pre-pregnancy - no idea what I'm at now, as I've switched over to a nursing bra, but, most definitely a good C by now. My husband is totally happy with it though :P I'm not a fan of the stretch marks, however - my boobs are covered with them!
  • D cup pre prey with DS. Went up to an E-ish and went down to a DD after. Stilla DD with this pregnancy but a big DD. Curious to see what happens after this baby comes. I'm not going to bf so we will see!
  • I was a DDD pre-pregnancy. Now I'm in an I. And my nipples are a bit darker. I do plan to breastfeed but I'm hoping they get a lot smaller after I'm done. Cause I hate them. I didn't like them before but I really don't like them now. I'm usually only in a size 4. My guess is more like they'll either stay this big or lose all their plump-ness and just be saggy. :( I'm about to cry just typing this because I think this is the worst part of my pregnancy.
  • If it makes any of you feel any better at all, although my boobs did shrink and I did breastfeed, my boobs did not get saggy or weird looking afterwards AND my nipples went back to pink from the pregnancy brown, so it doesn't always end a complete horror story! I already had stretch marks as a teenager from my boob skin growing, but then my boobs never filling them up haha I am the only woman in my family with a small chest, everyone else is a D+ and I'm a less-than-B! So now they are starting to look even better and I'm hoping to keep a bit of size this time =)
  • 32-A before pregnancy and now I'm at a 32B/34B depending on the bra. I don't plan on breastfeeding so hopefully they stay in the B cup range :(
  • FTM here too. Went from a barely B to an overflowing D with my first pregnancy in 2013. This is my second pregnancy now... I was a C cup in the beginning and growing into a very full D now! Something my mother, grandmommy and aunts told me to do helped IMMENSELY! Buy a SOFT toothbrush for your shower time. When you shower, gently rub your areolas and nipples with the toothbrush to help toughen them over time. I started doing this at month 7 with my first child and by the time I was 40 weeks full term, I could tell a huge difference in my sensitivity when I brushed them during my shower. Then when I began BreastFeeding my DD, I didn't have near the frustrations and pain that my girl friends all had adjusting to their babies.... mind you, I did have a few memorable days that my nipples ached, but with a little Lanolin along with Medela Nipple Shields to help my nipples recover, I could tell a huge difference.... I was soooooooooo Thankful my momma, grandmommy and aunts told me about using a simple toothbrush!!! ALSO, don't feel bad about going out and buying more bras. TRUST! When you begin BreastFeeding, you will be thankful you purchased better support for your "tatas"! They will keep themselves perky and won't sag nearly as much. Speaking of sagging, really conside using a nursing pillow to help lift baby while you nurse. This will help you not slouch, but also keep the weight of baby from pulling on your tatas... causing them to possibly turn due south! LOL. Sounds goofy, but I can tell a difference between me and my friends who all had babies at the same time. Hope these tips help somehow!!
  • My boobs didn't change toooo much after BFing nearly two years - I mean they're not as perky as they once were but the difference wasn't drastic (maybe I won't be so lucky after baby #2!), but the worst thing is that I've gained these weird pockets of fat at the sides, like below my armpits at boob level. It means I can't fit into any of my old clothes that were fitted around the bust. Not sure what that's all about.
