Anyone lucky & saw hb at ~5w4d?

Hey -- I have my first viability u/s this friday. LMP has me at 6w4d then, but I am farily certain I will be 5w4d. My pg books say that they heart starts beating around 22 days after conception -- so I know it is possible that it will have started by then. I am not expecting to see the hb - I will be happy just seeing s/he measures where I think I am. Just curious is anyone was lucky and did get to see a hb that early?

At my 5 week 4 day ultrasound all we saw was a gestational sac. There was no yolk sac, fetal pole, nothing. I was freaked out and had one 10 days later. There was the baby and the heart beating away.

I didn't. I think it's too early. With my first pregnancy, we heard the heartbeat at 6w0d. This pregnancy, we saw the gestational sac which was basically a circle at 5w0d.

Agreed. It's a few days to early to see a hb. We got lucky and saw ours at 6w1d...

With our son we saw the HB at 6w2d. It may be early but good luck!!!

Thanks girls -- that is why I called it 'lucky'. One of the girls on SAL actually did see the hb at that date! It gives me a little tinsy bit of hope that we will have similar luck. She posted it in her bio -- the baby is so tinsy!

We saw a gestational sac and yolk at 5w0d and due to spotting had another ultrasound and saw a heartbeat at 5w6d.

I saw and heard the heartbeat at 5wks 2 days at my ultrasound. That's pretty much all we could see, it looked like a giant heart thumping. haha

We did, although based on my LMP I thought I was more like 6 weeks. But she said sometimes you can see it. It was low b/cause it had just started beating but it was there. We got to see and hear it.

I did at 5w but I had a vaginal u/s so that may make a difference.

I went yesterday and according to the doc I am about 6 weeks... I saw a little heartbeat and the Dr said it all looks good. She did warn though that we probably wouldn't see anything and that it was OK if we didn't.

I had my first ultrasound in my fifth week (don't remember the date) and we did see the heart beating.

Judging by LMP and O date, I was 5w2d when we had our first u/s, but they dated me at 5w4d. ?We saw the HB - beating at 118 bpm.

My first ultrasound was at 5w4d exactly, and we were able to see the heartbeat. But the ultrasound tech had warned us prior that if were off by even a day, that we might not be able to see it. I think the heart rate was in the 160s at that time.

I had my first appointment on Monday. I was 9 wks 2 days. My doctor didn't even try to hear the heartbeat. He said 9 wks was too early. I was a little disappointed. I have my NT Scan on the 26th..so I guess I'll have to wait til then.

At 5 wks, 3 days we didn't hear it, but at 6 wks, 2 days we did! It's probably still too early. I thought that I was lucky to hear when I did. I wasn't expecting it yet.
